    GAC to Become DAS

I think you're reading his comment wrong. He's not encouraging a fight with an autistic person, but if an autistic child/adult comes towards you fighting, he's not just going to stand there and take the beating. I teach autistic children, and our school has us go through very specific training...

100% agreed. Most people would think she's a horrible human being even if she didn't have an autistic son... it just happens to align with the issues at hand right now. I would be so embarrassed if that was my family member and they treated cast members that way.

Trying to get my priorities straight

I had the same thing last year when I went during my February Break... it ended up feeling fine once we got there and it was about 65/70 each day, and not warm enough to really get wet! There are so many other great things to do that I was able to keep my mind off it... having a Mickey's Premium...

    GAC to Become DAS

That is not entirely true. They CAN be taught to understand, with the right process. I teach severely autistic students, some of whom are unable to go to the bathroom on their own, feed themselves, etc. Regardless of that fact, they are able to understand things with the right reinforcement and...

    GAC to Become DAS

I love hearing stories like that! It's definitely hard as a teacher to see the disconnect with some families between what they want the school to do for their child (set boundaries etc.) and what they actually feel they need to do at home (appease their kid). It's a daily challenge, but those...

    GAC to Become DAS

Anytime! It's definitely more of a challenge to attempt to correct the problem, but my students whose parents put in a TON of effort often seem to come back years later with the best updates about how much their child has improved... and some of them were the "worst" behaviorally earlier on.

    GAC to Become DAS

Couldn't agree more. Meltdowns may happen, difficulty with understanding the concept of waiting may happen, but it's up to the parents or responsible adult to begin teaching these children how to cope with waiting. I teach special education students, some of whom are in their teens and have...

    Birthdays in WDW

I've celebrated my birthday twice at Disney... both times wearing my pin proudly all week while I was there! For me, it's not for getting the extra happy birthdays or free items, but rather that I'm so excited to get to spend my birthday at my favorite place on earth! I can never pick which park...

    Gaston

He's an incredible meet and greet! I've done tons in my years going but he was by far the funniest! There was a LINE though- we got there a few minutes before his time started and by the time we left there were about 70 people waiting!

    Every ADR... Say What?!?!?

We went in February last year and Wishes was at 9 I believe... you might make it! :)

    Goodnight!

For me, it's watching Wishes, then hanging around the park until it's basically empty. I always get a bunch of great solo shots in front of the castle as the crowd thins out. During our most recent trip, one of the photo pass guys did a huge "photo shoot" with us since there was nobody else around!

    Your Favourite Park Attraction Song..

I constantly have a loop of Disney Music Stuck in my head! A couple favorites (there's no way to pick just one!) Tiki Room! Small World Three Caballeros (I wish it played more on the ride!!)

Your First Day Park..But What View.!

For me, it's that moment that I walk into the Transportation center and can see the Castle from across the lake. I get goosebumps every time!

Is the second weekend in September really that empty?

I wish I could go in September! Teaching limits me to school breaks, but I guess I'm so used to the summer crowds that I don't find it too miserable. I went in February this year and while the CMs were saying it was extremely crowded for the week, it felt empty to me!

    Love Is In The Air..

The smell of the waffles at Sleepy Hollow! I've never had one, but I love that fresh-baked smell that I get whenever I walk by!

    Be Our Guest Quick Service

We went in February, got on line at 11:30 and we were seated and eating at 12:00! It was delicious- I definitely recommend the French Onion Soup and Chocolate Cupcake... I had that as my meal and it kept me full until dinnertime!

What do you think would be the worst and best ride to get stuck on at all wdw parks

I've been stuck on Buzz (15 min), HM (20-ish), Maelstrom (15ish) and TOT before. Tower of Terror was DEFINITELY my favorite. We had just finished the drop, pulled back into the "room" and could hear the people drop in front of us before they announced the error. They got us all off, but let us...

trying to plan a Feb. trip

Honestly, if you've ever been in the summertime, Presidents' Weekend is a breeze! I went this year and it was low crowd compared to the summer. We were able to get on rides easily and the longest lines were for newer rides (FLE).

If you could celebrate your birthday in the World, how would you do it?

I love doing my birthday in WDW! I've gotten to do it twice- once was my 21st! We spent the whole day the first trip in MK during year of a million dreams and got the Magic Fastpasses for our group of 15! The second time we did all four parks in one day- hit the big rides and then had dinner &...
