Oooh, that does look pretty good. IMDB synopsis sounds pretty interesting as well. I'll definitely be going to see this one. Thanks for sharing the trailer!

I was basing my statement on some quotes by Rogan in an interview a couple weeks ago:
On Chow as Kato:
"Yeah. There’s a very real possibility that he will end up being Kato and there’s a slight possibility it won’t work out, but honestly we just aren’t 100% sure right now, because he does his thing… He’s the king of the world in Hong Kong, he doesn’t need us! (laughs)"
and
"Yeah, exactly. But him and Michel have met each other and talked about it, so we are moving in that direction which is exciting to me. To me, that notion is a very cool one."

I came on here to post exactly that interview but you beat me to it. Welcome back to the thread Lee

Other points that have come up:

-I didn't even realize Public Enemies was coming out this summer; definitely looking forward to it even though my budget may not appreciate all these summer releases

-Angels and Demons: I like the book more than The Da Vinci Code but I too was not impressed with that movie. I don't think I'll see this in theaters unless my friends gush over it.

-Ice Age 3: Really? There's a third? Oi.

Don't know if anyone posted this already but Jackie Earl Haley (Rorschack) is proposed to be the next Freddy Krueger. I think it was officially announced.

Yes, they announced it last week. I never saw the original but it seems like Hollywood is too into remaking (re-imagining, whatever) movies these days.

(Not bashing your post in any way, or even specifically this movie...just the general trend of horror movie remakes)

I have yet to see Adventureland yet, a bit intrigued to because I'd like to see how Hollywood portrays attractions employees. But I can't get past the fact that Kristen Stewart's in it. It's bad enough I have to suffer through her bad acting as Bella Swan in the Twilight Saga.
Just go into it knowing it's more of a serious dramedy than anything. I went in thinking it was gonna be this hilarious movie (thank you "Z0MG from the director Superbad!!!!1!!" ads)... when it wasn't.

I think another thing we can all agree on and take away from this thread...Danny McBride is great.
 :sohappy:

I know humor is subjective, but what is the deal with all of these "comedies" coming out of the past year and a half that really aren't funny or don't really try to be that funny? It's very odd to me.

But in this case it actually makes me interested in Adventureland. I wasn't a fan of Superbad.......because I didn't think it was funny after the first 15 minutes

Come to think of it, as much as I like Seth Rogan in the Apatow directed films and to a slightly lesser extent in Zack and Miri, I really don't like ANYTHING else he's done in the live action realm

To cheer me up, I present a selection of fine, wise, Danny McBride quotes from my memory.

Fred Simmons said:
I put all that hate, and loathing, and I put it into this uniform. Then I took what was leftover, and got rid of it. Then I tie it off with this black belt.

Cody said:
I don't know it's name, I just know the sound it makes WHEN IT LIES.

I saw the new trailer for G.I. Joe a few days ago and I am leaning more toward seeing it now. I wasn't too sure before, partly because of the casting. Some of the people chosen I wasn't sure would be right for the roles. But, after seeing how Sienna Miller looks as Baroness and seeing some of the other folks in it, I can now say that the only thing from the trailer that really makes me want to smack someone is the "Delta VI Accelerator Suit." I don't remember seeing anything like that previously in G.I. Joe, but admittedly it has been a long time. A suit that pretty much makes the wearer capable of near Matrix level agility, though? Seems more like something so they could add more special effects than it is something that actually will move the plot forward. But yeah, I'll probably see it now. Besides, I love the idea of Chris Eccleston as Destro.

I don't get the whole G.I. Joe thing....(dating myself:lookaroun)
For me, Joe has a fuzzy head and a kung-fu grip....none of this ninja-like nonsense.
I'll just watch the film and try not to think of it as G.I. Joe.

Bryan...I'm with you. I hated the look from the teaser but the official trailer looks pretty promising actually!

Lee, Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes are two of the most popular GI Joe characters. They are ninjas. (There were more later on...but these two are the most prominent and popular).

There is also Quick Kick (not a Ninja) and Jinx...and then there was a group of Ninja figures that came later.

IMO, Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow (along with the cool vehicles) MADE GI Joe and kept them fresh.

It began getting hokey when Serpentor and his gang (Nemesis Enforcer, etc.) came into the picture. Cobra went from being a terrorist group to more of an underground "religion" of snake-like beings.

G.I. Joe is instantFAIL if you've seen what Cobra looks like.

Just AWFUL.

"Mr. Summers, what are your ideas for the picture?"

"LEATHER. BLACK leather."

"Who's wearing it?"

"EVERYONE."

"Then how can you tell them apart?"

"That doesn't matter you idiot! It's black leather! Like...the babes are wearing it...and the guys have like...leather abs...and Cobra...BOOM. Leather'ed!"

"...Give this man $50 Million Dollars."

I completely agree.

It's like they tried to mix Iron Man, GI Joe, and an Abercombie and Fitch catalog.

Now Transformers...I'm psyched for that.

Well, on the plus side, at least he got it right for Baroness. She's always been about the black leather. :D

Meh. It's not special when everyone's wearing the same outfit...even the guys...which is...disturbing...

They're called uniforms for a reason. Just because both sides decided to shop at bondage barn doesn't necessarily make it a bad thing... :lookaroun

Nah...It began being hokey when they took a cool line of army action figures and made a cartoon out of it.
Never saw it, never will.
The movie...yeah. I'll watch that. Looks kinda cool.

G.I. Joe Trailer made me laugh out loud in a quiet theater.

Sorry.

"But ummm...why would the G.I.Joes have Exo suits?"

"Because it doesn't matter at this point, we've already ruined everything else about this concept"

*Dons RoboJoe Suit and jumps around missiles while stunned stereotypical frenchmen eating a baguette looks on in super slow motion*
