    Build Your Own Burger.

I'm going to be different here: a half-pound patty (or two quarter-pound patties), Swiss cheese, bacon, and an ounce each of ham, turkey, pastrami, and roast beef, on a sourdough bun, with mayo, Dijon mustard, pickles, red sweet onion, tomato, and Romaine lettuce. If I could eat as much as I...

Is an Annual Pass for a non-resident worth it?

The breakeven point is if you're doing fifteen days in the parks, give or take a day or two (it obviously depends on whether you're doing fifteen consecutive days, or three five-day trips, or what, but it's right around there most of the time).

WDW ticket price increases coming June 3rd

And if revenue drops anyway, Iger's likely to be slotted into a new position before the shareholders come after him with torches and pitchforks.

    The fastpass attendants don't play!

Sounds like a (usually acceptable) solution would be to simply increase the window to two hours.

TDO light maintenance becoming a joke!

Write slashfic. "Bad" is left out because it implies that there is such a thing as good slashfic. (Curse the lack of a strikeout tag!)

    Monorail Envy

That puts it at about $18.4M/mile, or $3480/foot. Actual cost is somewhere between $4400/foot (based on the previous figures for Brazil, assuming both the 30-train and 54-train figures use the same cost per train) and... oh, $12k/foot (a hair under $64M/mile) at the top end, maybe?

The Transportation and Ticket Center needs a makeover. Desperately.

Yeah, just a bit, and then there was the guy about a week ago claiming that it was $57.3 million per half foot, or roughly $605 billion per mile. I'm not sure where some of these people come up with their numbers. Probably the same place that comes up with government estimates.

    Monorail Envy

If it's a rail-and-station-only expansion, no additional trains, it'd probably run somewhere around half to two-thirds of that. (If the $4400/foot figure I gave earlier is accurate in the US as well, it's as low as one-third of that, but, well, we're not Brazil despite all the tour groups, and...

    Monorail Envy

Based on the figures in trr1's post, I come out to a figure of about $4400/foot, roughly (and a per-train cost of a little over $20 million dollars - dropping to six-car trains would put it at closer to $17M) so I'm going to have to ask you to kindly stop with the massively inaccurate numbers...

Who should take over the narration on SSE??

I'm a little surprised that nobody's said this yet, but... ...Mandy Patinkin still has a great voice and would make a wonderful narrator. (On the downside, we'd have tons of people going on SSE and, during any silent parts of the narration, saying "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You...

    New WDW Monorail System hours

Thanks for the correction - the last time I would have had a chance to see it was... well, over twenty years ago. That puts it at... um... late 2019 or early 2020 for completion if they're counting just feet of bus bar, not feet of beam. (And in that case, maybe they should be closing the...

    New WDW Monorail System hours

Keep in mind that there's a hair under 78,000 feet of beam (which I believe means there's a roughly equal length of bus bar). At the current pace, and making the (possibly unwarranted) assumption that the entire length of bus bar is being replaced, that puts completion somewhere in 2015. But...

Monorail Peach will be added to the fleet at Walt Disney World this fall

My prediction, ever since "it's going to be Peach" started up, has been "orange with deltas". (Well, more like "ever since I've seen people mentioning 'it's going to be Peach'" if people want to be nitpicky. :D)

    Trying to remember a candy

Pretty sure it was, and something at the back of my head wants to say either France or Germany, but I'm really not sure about that. EDIT: And part of the reason I'm trying to figure out what it is is so that I don't have to wait until next September's trip to get some of these (though I'm...

    Free Dining Offer Sept 2012

Not yet. The earliest they're likely to mention it is going to be around the beginning of 2012 anyway.

    Trying to remember a candy

First off: keep in mind it's been nearly 25 years since my last trip to WDW, so there's probably a very large chance that what I'm trying to remember isn't available anymore. Anyway, there used to be a boxed candy - I believe in Epcot - that was... well, the best way I can think of putting...

Well, you have to keep those Brazilian tour groups fresh somehow...

WDW Food Pictures Of The Day Part II

I'm pretty sure the recipe is wrong; that seems awfully high on the milk for a decent Mornay sauce, just comparing it to this one. The recipe also seems a bit low on the cheese overall (one cup of cheese is only about four ounces), so I suspect the correct amounts are one pint of milk (instead...

Epcot's Outpost expands with addition of new kiosk featuring recycled park guide maps

Unfortunately, fixed for something closer to an accurate figure (I personally suspect somewhere in the 200-350 range; more likely it'd be on the order of one or two thousand and I'm just being pessimistic again).

    Is this overdoing it?

Three TS meals a day isn't overdoing it - earliest possible breakfast, latest possible dinner, lunch around 2pm is actually a pretty good way to go about it. That gives you ~7 hours between meals. It doesn't hurt that I like food, though. :D
