    Skipping A Year...or Two..

WildcatDen, we drive and camp. Perhaps you should have considered that option before you 'questioned my math'. And while in Denver, we stayed at our daughter's home. We could have done it for even less had we not visited several museums and dined out so frequently. Btw, a KOA campsite runs...

    Skipping A Year...or Two..

We were annual visitors from '87 to '00. Then our daughter ran off to college & moved out, and my wife & I began traveling elsewhere. We now find ourselves in WDW every 3-5 years, our last visit having been in 2013. When you spread it out like that, you really notice the changes. And they're not...

So I'm becoming one of those and a little miffed

If we don't spiral into the ground in between Michigan and MCO, if our room res hasn't been eaten by the system, and our luggage doesn't wind up aboard the Disney Magic, I'm good with anything but a slap in the face from a CM or being served a melted Dole Whip. Maybe my 'Eat it and smile'...

Any Attraction You Actually Want To Get Stuck On?

1970... A friend and I were stuck on IASW in Disneyland for close to 45 minutes. I should add that we'd just enjoyed a herbal interlude on the Tomorrowland Skyway. After several years of intense therapy I was able to forget that day, hold a job, maintain a relationship, and generally lead a...

What would be a dream come true for you at WDW?

I walk into EPCOT and there's a huge sinkhole where M:S once stood. I ask a CM what's gonna happen now that it's gone. The CM replies: "We kept Horizons intact and updated at a secret location. We're going to drop it in tonight with a gaggle of Sikorsky S-64's. Come on back in the morning. That...

Advice for a Rompin', Stompin', 60th Birthday...

Hi folks... Believe it or not, my lovely bride of 33 years will turn 60 on our forthcoming trip to WDW. We plan on spending the day at the MK from gate open until it's time to spruce-up for her Birthday Dinner at Artist Point, then return to the park until they throw us out. Questions abound...

How tired are you on the day of arrival??

We used to catch the 7am Airtran flight from Flint that landed at MCO around 9:30. That flight's gone the way of the Dodo. So now we'll board at 6am, and arrive at 1:33pm after a layover in Atlanta. Once we get squared away at POFQ we'll probably be closing in on 4pm. That's too late to burn a...

    Splash Mountain falling apart (literally?)

Hope it works out for both of us, Steve. My wife's 60th birthday is on 3/20. A birthday ride on a bright & shiny Splash Mtn would be a great present for her.

Main Street Bakery to Serve Starbucks Coffee

Just read elsewhere that the MSB name will be retained. That's better. That info also might be included in this thread, but I'm short the time to plow thru 58 pages.

Any idea if they're on track to meet the 3/19 re-open date?

Main Street Bakery to Serve Starbucks Coffee

Just found out about this travesty while researching our March trip. Very, very sad. We have a Starbuck's right down the street... But we don't have a Main Street Bakery, the place where I've shared a big slice of chocolate cake with our daughter on every visit since 1987. I could even buy into...

    Robert Sherman has passed

'The Boys' wrote much of my life's soundtrack... not a day goes by that I don't listen to, hum, sing, or God help me, whistle a piece of their wonderful music. Godspeed, Robert, and thank you so much!

Best Moderate for location AND transportation

We spend more time at the MK, Epcot, and DtD than anywhere else, so POFQ is the logical choice for us. Besids, we like the place. :animwink:

    ruins of old disney rides

Great thread! I really miss 20k... that was one of the trademark rides of the MK. Those pics of the decrepit subs are heartbreaking.

Your Last Night Meal and Memories?

Last Night's Meal? Our final night is always at the MK. So after Wishes, we grab a few slices of that incredibly decadent chocolate cake from the Main Street Bakery, then a pizza and cartons of cold milk from the Sassagoula Floatworks at POFQ. All are sloppily devoured as we pack & hash over our...

"El Pirata Y el Perico Restaurante" name changed to "Tortuga Tavern"

That place once served a foot long chili-cheese dog that required both hands and serving spoon to eat. I was a tad miffed when it went away.

New menu at Cinderella's Royal Table? Not happy!

We've had breakfast & dinner at CRT. I was not impressed with either. A lot of money for very mediocre food. Unless the place is on your WDW bucket list or you need to indulge your 'princess', avoid it.

    Cinderella's Royal Table Questions

We've dined there twice, for breakfast and dinner. The ambience is great, but the food is extremely mediocre. That's also the consensus of most of our friends and family. Unless your heart is set on dining in the castle, your money would be better spent elsewhere.
