XM & Sirius Merge

no commercials and better songs :)

I imagine I would really enjoy satellite radio. The FM stations here; from alternative to country, must all have everything played on a three hour loop? Same thing, same order after a few hours. Saturdays are horrible; with more commercials than music--------and alot having remote broadcasts.
One question: is satellite edited? Would I be able to hear the Buckcherry song in full  ?

Some stations are censored and others aren't. I have heard it in full :)

(Same goes with the Panic at the Disco song)

(Hehe, you actually hear what the "Groom's bride" is :D )

Yeah, I better not lose Cinemagic in the merger. Hopefully the price shouldn't go up too much. A buck or two I can live with for additional channels.

Another arguement in favor of satellite radio is the sports. Where else can you listen to all the MLB (XM) and NFL (Sirrius) games without pops, scratches and crackles through a fluke of the AM radio waves. I live in Indy and can pull in 720 AM most of time but I flip to the XM and I've got Pat and Ron crystal clear. That is unless someone else has an fm modulator that is more powerful than mine in which case I get to listen to their Ipod for a minute.

That's a BIGGIE for me. I listen to every Buffalo Bills and Orlando Magic game on Sirius (unless they are on national TV or in the Bills case playing the Titans, Falcons, or Panthers where they could be on the local station) and the sound quality is great. Also the college football selection is great and it makes our trips home from Knoxville after the games go by much faster.

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
BTW... I got this in an e-mail today to... but for all you XM (and or) Sirius folks/subscribers.... here is the planned layout for their packages (pending FCC approval of course).

http://www.orbitcast.com/archives/reps-from-sirius-xm-met-with-fcc-chairman.html

XM Subscriber here (mutiple radios, to boot). I wanna stick with the base XM stuff... but defintly add Radio Margaritaville from the Sirius side... and maybe their Hairband channel (lol what? so sue me...lol). So I might just go "ala carte" for a few Sirius channels, it looks like. :) Edit: which... I still need to figure out how I am gonna do that.

We have XM via DirecTV and Sirius which came free with our vehicle... and I still don't have either of them straight. Now I'm really going to be lost  :dazzle:

My (condensed) thoughts on this....

-Moving Cinemagic ... not good. But whatever.

-Rebranding XM49 Big Tracks to Classic Rewind... could be a good thing.. but this channel is a huge staple in my car. Just have to wait and see. :-\

-Awesome adds!! :sohappy::sohappy: 41 Hair Nation / 55 Radio Margaritaville / 57 The Grateful Dead Channel Thank you Sirius!! Thank you very much!! :king:

73 High Standards - renamed Siriusly Sinatra (Jonathan Schartz still DJing) w00t!! I get the Sinatra channel back! :king:

45 - The Spectrum* I love The Spectrum on Sirius... however... I will miss 45 - XM Cafe :(

I find it funny that No Shoes Radio (XM18) is offline in my truck...but I'm listening to it right now online

I wish they would release what they plan on doing with the Sirius channel lineup. Hopefully Cinemagic will come over to Sirius. That's the only station I really miss from XM and I would listen to it quite a bit.

I have been holding off on getting satlite radio due to these channel changes...

I was tempted to get XM but wanted to wait till I knew what was going on.

Looks like some of my favorite Sirius programming is coming to XM. :king: Love the Foxxhole and Radio Margaritaville is great at times. I've always thought Sirius' Blues station was better than XM's, but it looks like XM is trying to get better. :)

I always thought the I Love Lucy channel names of Fred, Ethel and Lucy were wrong for what XM was trying to do, so I won't miss them at all.

If this is happening so soon, why no Sirius info? Are we getting basically the same music channel lineup? Are we getting Cinemagic?

Sirius line up will remain the same... as far as I know. Cinemagic...You'll get it... eventually... I think when the al la carte options/radios come out.

And to be honest here... Sirius always led with better programing than XM. As where XM was the leader in technology.

You have NO idea how happy the Margaritaville Channel makes me, and that it will be live in my car tomorrow morning!
