Umm...remember, everybody said that the Patriots would be horrible when Bledsoe went out in game 2. (That being said, I don't think that Matt Cassel is the next Tom Brady).

Is it the coach or the players? This season will be the answer.

It be great to see a 5 win season for them

One thing about the Patriots is they have a very good offensive line. In fact, I believe there offensive line was a big reason why they went 16-0 last year.

Looks like I am all alone again this year with my Dolphins. I would have thought there would be a few Miami fans on here seeings how it is a WDW site and alot of you are from the Florida area. Oh well, can't blame anyone the way they have played the last decade or so. :brick:

Yes, and when that fell apart...they lost. (SuperBowl) That was the main reason for the loss...once that offensive line crumbles, the entire offense crumbles.

(It's like removing the keystone from a perfect archway).

Now, the only glimmer of hope the Patriots have...is that they have the easiest schedule of any team this season.

If the defense can step it up like they usually do...and the offensive line gives Cassel some time...they could still (however remotely) make the playoffs.

Why did Terrell Owens get penalized? It looked like he was just happy that he got a touchdown. I don't understand why the NFL has these kind of rules? I don't understand some of these rules :veryconfu

I don't have a problem with the referee who gave Terrell Owens a Penalty, though I did not see the game. I think the referee was just doing his job. I just don't like the rule. I wanted to make it clear that it's not the referee that I have a problem with, it's just the rule that I have a problem with.

BTW, it's official. Tom Brady is out for the season. He has been put on Injured Reserve and will undergo surgery.

My question is...

Does Injured Reserve not allow you to play in the postseason also?

Oh, and word has it that the Patriots are in talks with Drew Bledsoe.

 YES I'M KIDDING ABOUT THAT LAST PART!

Brian, I believe that is correct. If he tore his ACL, I don't see how he would be available by postseason. What's the prognosis?

So I'm watching the Bronco/Faider MNF game and I feel I must ask:

When did the Raiders hire Doogie Howser as their coach??

I knew I was busy last season and was only able to go to one Bronco game at Investco, but, somehow Doogie didn't register on my Raidar (spelling on purpose). I usually watched most Bronco games at home, but I was usually busy doing about 15 things and only half catching them.

p.s. Long live Al Davis! The Raiders will never succeed as long as he lives (if he's actually still alive; I question that at times when I see him looking propped up during some games).

GL to everyone's teams (unless you are a fan of anyone but the Broncos in the AFC West, lol)

It's a torn ACL last I heard.

If surgery goes well...he could be feeling no effects by week 10 or 11.

1 week to let the swelling go down.
Surgery.
6-8 weeks of physical therapy
1 week of practice...

Now, that's a "best case scenario"...which is why they put him on IR. Better to give him the year off so they know he'll have enough healing time.

It was great to see Aaron Rodgers have a good game tonight for two reasons:
1. I blame Favre for the offseason nuttiness in Green Bay, and Rodgers handled the whole situation with class.
2. He's my new Fantasy starting QB (as my first round draft choice is now likely gone for the season).

How about that Bear defense? Back to form. We're going to erase all memories of last season's debacle.

DA BEARRRSSSSS!!!!!!

I know it was only one game, but Cutler looks to be on his way to the top. Imagine what teams will have to contend with when Marshall gets back next week.

I was really impressed with Cutler. Looks like him and Royal have a good niche together. Stokley as well.

Special teams still needs a TON of work though. Have the Broncos had a decent special teams in years? I'm sending them the bills for my elevated heart rate and booze consumption during games.

Just resurrecting the Football thread for this weeks games. How is everyone doing in their FF leagues and how are your teams doing? The Broncos don't play for another 45 minutes or so, so I'm flipping between the KC/Oak game (can they both lose?????) and the Chi/Car game. Hopefully your Bears can hold on to it to win Fallen Angel (they are still up with 6 minutes left in the 4th as I type this).
