Construction bids going out for TLM attraction?

If you saw Robin Williams as Peter Pan, you saw the movie "Hook", made in 1991. But you don't really think that's what the Disney ride is based on, do you? Disney's Peter Pan animated movie was indeed 56 years ago.
Thank you. I was going to respond to his response to my post, but I couldn't find a way to phrase it that wasn't completely insulting without trying to be. How does someone know what Steamboat Willy is but not realize that Peter Pan's Flight is based on the 1953 animated Disney film rather than the TriStar Pictures 1991 film.

Yeah, as the father of a 6 y/o girl, trust me, Ariel and TLM is still big. Do not forget the lure of the princesses. I'm not sure how Disney does it. My daughter was obsessed with them before she ever saw any of the movies. And out of the princesses, IMHO, maybe only Cinderella outranks Ariel in popularity.

Your right. My niece is absolutely obsessed with the disney princesses as well. I mean obsessed. I dunno how / what happened but she LOVES Ariel. I thought the same thing about the movie being older...but it is still very relevant today. If this gets built, its going to pull in huge numbers I think

I just saw peter pan the other day, its not 56 years old (or else robin williams is REALLY old). if they had made a live action version of the little mermaid 10 years ago i would understand, but going back to what i said before, how many people still love steamboat willy? I mean i know i love him, and i would go on a ride with him in it (n enjoyed that level on kingdom hearts II), but just b/c i like it doesnt mean it has mass appeal

That was Hook and I dont even think it was made by Disney, and yes the Disney Film is 56 years old.

Hahaha, yeah. Hook does not equal Peter Pan haha

Anyway, I like this idea, I dont think TLM is too old (if anything, a GOOD Disney ride will rekindle love with the movie), and I hope this is true

Oh? Good then. But I also thought that they wanted to keep some things "exclusive" to DCA for a time so people start going there and not just deciding to book 1 day at DL.

Am I the only one on earth who would prefer a Beauty and the Beast attraction rather than a little mermaid attraction?

Over Little Mermaid?

I hope I'm not the only one who'd rather go under the sea, be in locations like Ursula's Grotto, King Triton's Kingdom, the shipwreck site with shark, the secluded pond where "Kiss the Girl" is sung, the scene were Ursula control's the ocean etc, than...a...dryer (in more ways than one) castle.

Not every good movie makes a good ride or vice versa. At least with Mermaid you have both.

What i was meaning by that was, by releasing a film it introduces a new generation to it and then they go, 'oh hey maybe i should watch peter pan' or parents by the original to show there kids. Just refreshing the past and bringing it to the forefront that's all.

And with all the talk about the thing being like the clamobile/haunted mansion ghost cars, is it gonna be an E-ticket? Because i would hardly classify the nemo ride E-ticket, maybe a C-ticket

The Little Mermaid is a great addition, and its timely. Disney has it on Braodway in a wodnerful play I've seen and it draws lots of princesses but also plenty of adults, I cannot wait for it to be built.

I agree!! Would be so welcome but Fantasyland is a zoo now as it is traffic wise, can you imagine? Hopefully they would expand the area. I still fear Jim Hill's comments about how it would end up a scaled down cheapo version. This is what WDW loves to do best most of the time unfortunatly. But at the same time if they are going to build a brand new building for it and everything surely they will go all the way and make it worth the effort. Me hopes.

Are you trying to tell me that a ride the size and scope of HM isn't an E-ticket?

You know ever since that virtual ride on the DVD I've been hopeing for something close to happen because we really need another dark ride based on a Disney classic. TLM is the perfect choice because its a older classic but still has decent draw enough to make a great dark ride. I'm hopeing this is also a sign I can look for them to bring TLM to Blu Ray in a few years.
