Construction bids going out for TLM attraction?

I'll just add a quick two cents worth that Disney has added many attractions that THEY internally consider to be E-Tix since ToT in 1994.

Everything from RnRC to TT to KS to CTX/Dinosaur to Soarin to MS to (yes) EE are all internally considered to be of that variety.

For me, there's only one of the above that equals E-Tix of the past (and I won't say which right now) ... and I think that's largely what the problem is. It's not that Disney hasn't spent money, built them (except for MK that is). It's that the quality just isn't up to what an E-Ticket was for the first 40-45 years of Disney theme parks.
It's Dinosaur isnt it!!!:D

Kilimanjaro Safaris has to be considered an E-Ticket, I don't see how it can be considered anything less. I could understand arguments for every other attraction listed.

i dont think it has the size scope attention to detail or thrill for me to concider it an E-ticket

Uh, is this another attempt at humor? I think maybe I just need to add this poster to my ignore list so I stop trying to comprehend statements like this. It gives me a headache. :brick:

And yes, I know, your opinion and all that, but some opinions give me headaches and its best just to try to ignore them.

Abbreviations are an approved form of communication on this and most of the other boards. It is simply a part of life around here. Use the reference list Steve provides and think about them, you will figure them out. We all had to at one point or another.

Not sure if this is sarcasm, but the ride is bigger than the Magic Kingdom, by that fact alone, you aren't allowed to consider anything at Magic Kingdom an E-Ticket under your qualifications.

If you truly don't consider KS to be an E ticket then I'm done with this conversation with you at least. You have by far the strangest definition of E ticket that I've ever heard.

Did you read the whole thing? I mean really does anyone? Did I say you have to have ONE of the attributes (size, scope, attention to detail, and thrill) or did I all?

There are 4 things i look at before I PERSONALLY concider something an "E-ticket". It doesn't have the thrill for me to concider it an E-ticket. That has always been a part of my defination, and it just doesnt have it for me.

HUH?

It has the size, it has the scope, it has the detail, and it has the thrill. I don't know how you can say it doesn't have any of them! :brick: :brick: :brick:

It is huge, the largest attraction in Disney's history, plus the logistics of it are simply stunning. As far as detail and scope, they took a cow pasture and turned it into a realistic African Savanna. Having all the animals free roaming, yet keeping them separate is huge amazing too. And, how often can you come within arms reach of a rhino? Where can you go that lions appear to be able to get close to your vehicle but you are perfectly safe or giraffes walk beside you? If that doesn't raise your heart rate, you need to check your pulse. It's the closest thing to a real safari out there.

Once again i agreed with you on the last post it has the size and scope obviously look up.....

Then I need to check my pulse , imo its like being driven through a zoo, its boring. Rhino Rally is MUCH better, i might concider that an E-ticket.....i would have to think about it.

How often have i wanted to come within arms reach of a rhino? It's less then one
I would maintain that the thrill in the Safaris isn't g-forces, but it's the same way that Soarin' is thrilling.
, maybe thats why i dont like soarin either, i just dont get it. good post and great point. either way i still dont concider any of them to be an E-ticket to me.

Then Kilimanjaro isn`t for you. The size of the lines says you are in a minority. That`s why they built a 3 minute ride it and forget it thrill ride on the other side of the park.

At the end of the day, ride classifications are now personal preference. The term E Ticket is loosely used as a big budget, big draw attraction - be it a rollercoaster or simulator. Aside from TSMM, which WDI class as a D, I can`t think of any attraction given an offical A-D status since the ticket books were stopped in 1982.

Thereby reinforcing the point that the discussion is pointless. People have different views about what makes an E-ticket. The only view that ever mattered was Disney's, and that only because it changed the prices way back when.
