So which are you admitting to- quoting someone else's opinion as your own, or watching the show PLUS reading up on VFTW.

:ROFLOL:

I say this all in fun.

I wonder if I've ever devoted this much time to something I didn't even like.

Maybe I have, I just can't think of anything right now.
Come on...

I come back from a two year hiatus... I find the only thread that interests me currently... and ya'll don't want me to post?

I'll go play at my other playground... :lookaroun

I watch the first couple of weeks (in the hopes that someone is actually good)... and then I'll follow-up with VFTW. It's the funniest recaps you can find, and the cynicism is a nice touch.

Nah, nobody's asking you not to post. I just find it amusing that the person who hates the show takes it more seriously than some of us who actually still enjoy it

What did you all think about Bo Bice last night? I found it a little strange, especially when he was making those weird noises. Maybe it's just me.

As part of her "homecoming" day, Syesha will be singing the National Anthem at the Rays game tonight.

And I will now be there.

From tampabay.com:
When we heard that American Idol Top 3 contestant Syesha Mercado was going to sing the national anthem at Friday night's Rays-Angels game as part of her "homecoming tour," we immediately grabbed the crystal ball we keep handy for just such occasions and began conjuring the judges' reactions. (Note to Syesha: If you see this, just know that we ain't hatin', we're just statin'.)

Randy (wearing a Carl Crawford jersey): Yo, check it out. Yo, baby, you got mad chops, but when you're singing that Francis Scott Key, you got to bring the flava! Nah, man, I didn't hear it."

Paula (sipping from her cup): "Syesha ... you look -- so lovely -- out there on the mound tonight. (Sips again from the cup and motions to the beer vendor for a refill). My heart just stops ... (some inaudible murmuring) ... You made that song your own ... Somewhere in heaven, the song's writer, Benjamin Franklin Scott, is smiling down and saying, 'Syesha, you're a star.' And you are."

Simon (wearing a complimentary pair of Joe Maddon trendy specs): "I've never heard this song before, but I already don't like it. It's got more question marks than Jason Castro's last drug test. And please, I beg you -- that was a Whitney song, right? -- please don't ever do Whitney again."

Ryan: "Okay, so Randy thought it was JUST okay. Simon basically insulted our country again. And I'm not sure I understood anything Paula said. ... Syesha, are you crying again??"

Noises? What was he doing, I didn't notice?
He was using a "Talk Box". It's the tube that amplifies his guitar into his mouth, he can shape his mouth different ways to change the sound [in this case, mouthing the lyrics] and then the resultant sounds are picked up by a microphone. Think Eric Clapton...

I'd rather think Peter Frampton :)

I'm familiar with the talk box, I didn't realize those were the noises she was referring too, I thought I had missed something.

I understand the kid's only 17 so the parents want to be around, but Dad seems a bit overbearing.

When I think about the Idols that have improved as the season has gone on, I think about Syesha and David Cook. Not Archuleta. Dad may actually be holding him back by providing so much direction when the kid could learn a lot more from the Idol staff and celebrity guests.
