I think Archueleta's big money will come from the tell-all book he writes when he gets out of therapy when he's in his 40s. But he will have a big enough career first so that a publisher would be interested in the book.

I haven't followed him off of the show, why do you think he will need therapy? :lookaroun

Mainly because of how uncomforatble he looks when he is doing anything but singing, and the stories that are coming out about his overbearing stage dad. I also think that he just isn't emotionally mature enough for all the pressure he's been under. And it's a shame, because he has the voice of an angel on the right songs.

And while we're talking about Miley-am I the only one who thought the Vanity Fair photos were pretty tame? Why is she apologizing for showing her bare back??? She'd be showing just as much in a bikini on the beach, what's the big damn deal? People put way too much pressure on that girl to be perfect. Anyhoo.

I totally agree.

Did you all read the article about how his Dad has been banned from helping him prepare for shows? Apparently AI got in some deep doodoo because David changed some of the lyrics in Stand By Me, at his Dad's insistence, despite being warned by AI that he could not do that. AI incurred a lot of attorney's fees for it.

Bye Bye crazy stage dad!

I read about that! That is so embarrassing!!

For me it wasn't the amount of skin. For me it was the suggestiveness of the photo. The bedhead, the look, the sheet wrapped around a topless 15 year old. She is 15 for goodness sakes.

I agree with you. If I had a 15-year-old I wouldn't want a picture like that of her in the hands of millions of readers...

Wow! No comments on tonight's show?

I'll jump in:

All three did really well on their first songs, David C on top. I thought the judges did well choosing songs.

All three were mediocre on their second songs, David C still on top. None of the performers chose songs well.

David A and Syesha were fair on their third songs, David C did best. I thought the producers chose very badly for all three.

I honestly believe David C won the night, I think the judges deliberately played down Syesha to inspire more votes for her in hope of bumping David A, who in my opinion only did well on his first song and the other two were disasters.

If the voting goes the way I think it will, David A is gone tomorrow and David C wins hands down next week.

I hope you're right. I thought Syesha did much better than David A - she sang a good variety and did consistantly well with them. I agree that David C wins it all!

I pretty much agree, although I did like all three of the third songs. I liked David A's arrangement on Longer, but overall, David C won all three rounds.

I didn't like David C.

I thought he butchered Aerosmith song. To be fair, Aerosmith did such a good job with that song, I don't think anyone could pull it off.

I would love to see David C. and Syesha in the final. I started out being a big David A. fan, however I have quickly grown tired of him. He really seems like a one trick pony to me. He proved that with that Chris Brown song tonight. He sings ballads well (if he could only sing a straight melody though. Geez!) but is boring to watch. At least Syesha mixes things up a little.

I don't think he butchered it but I thought the same thing - Steven Tyler has a very distinct voice and amazing range. Poor song choice to make him sing such a famous anthem of Aerosmith.

I agree he butchered Aerosmith, but as I said the producers picked badly, of the three his butchery was still better than the others.I think he did great on the song Simon chose [which actually surprised me].

Syesha would have done better on "Fever" if she'd had more direct lighting, her face was in shadow most of the song and it actually detracted from her performance [her timing was off at the start, but she picked it up].

I strongly dislike Archuleta...

he has ZERO versatility whatsoever... every single song of his sounds exactly like the other... and EVERY SINGLE SONG he makes the exact same stupid looking face throughout the whole song...

While yes, he clearly has a fantastic voice... he has no versatility... every song sounds identical...

edit:

although i do gotta say that at least his chris brown song... while it still sounded the same... he broke out of his shell a bit... he moved around a little more... but... still feel the same

I agree. I am so tired of David A. He can sing great but it's the same thing week after week. I would love to see David C & Syesha next week, it seems like they really give it their all. Having said that, David Cook is amazing. I really hope that he wins.

Randy was interviewed by our local radio station yesterday morning (before the show) and was asked who he thought would win. He said David A.

Katherine McPhee and Elliot were also on and asked the same question. They both agreed it would be David C.

I got SO excited when I heard the beginning of the Aerosmith song. I thought, okay, this might be what really makes me a David C. fan. But I was really let down. I agree with a lot of you posters who said that Tyler's version is just so wonderful that it would be hard to sound as good or better. But I was really hoping David would pull it off.

i didn't watch last night... just watched them all right now though...

just watched Cook's aerosmith...

I'm about as big an aerosmith song as there is... but I loved it... everyone is right when they say that... it's too identifiable with steven tyler and aerosmith is the greatest rock band of all time so it's kind of hard to try and top that...

so... trying to just listen to it as its own song and get away from it already being an aerosmith song, i thought it was fantastic... not nearly as good as aerosmith's, no... but again, I tried to completely not compare the two at all... and doing so... i really really enjoyed it...
