Spearheading a project to build the REAL EPCOT

Erm, yeah. Dubai is the other side of the world from the US, but did it occur to you that they probably don't care about that? America isn't the only tourism market you know. The world is a great big place and they can get enough business from the massive economies of the Middle East, Europe...

What happens to Test Track if GM goes under?

I doubt GM will ever go bust- too many jobs in the US and all around the world would disappear. I'm sure the UK government would protect British GM (Vauxhall) factories, and various other plants in Europe would be protected too by their respective governments. Just look at the American...

    What I Think Epcot Needs

Wrong part of the world. Aladdin is Arabian whereas Morocco is on the north west coast of Africa, and very close to Spain across the Straits of Gibraltar. The authorities in Morocco built the pavillion as a genuine showcase for the culture and art of the country, rather than an outright...

    What I Think Epcot Needs

Wow! Where did you get that picture from, and do you have any more like it? This is not like the plans for a 'Commonwealth of Australia' pavillion that I came across in the Disney archives when I worked at WDW. The one I saw had a rollercoaster called the Outback Switchback which was set...

    Admit it, you felt it...

When I was on the Wonder, I used to escort the Make a Wish Kids and their families to the front of the theatre for the finale show, Disney Dreams. By the end of it, the kids were loving it and the parents were all in tears! I had to hold it back and show a happy face... definately worth...

    Disney Magic in Drydock Changes!

Probably only the Magic, as seven day cruises (or longer) are generally too long for most small scale conferences. The Wonder, with its shorter itineraries, is more suitable for a conference. Even in saying that, the conference rooms are usually empty and are used by crew for meetings etc...

    AKL too far?

Thanks for the info. Are the AKL and WL Resort standard rooms perhaps smaller as they all have balconies? (correct me if I'm wrong)

    Disney Cruise for New Year's

It's not an official Formal Night, but there's a set menu in all three main restaurants and people do dress up. You end up with a mix- some people in tuxedos and some in shorts! My recommendation is to book Palo, if you want a more formal 'classy' experience for the evening. Arrive early...

    Animal Kingdom Lodge Upgrades

Is there usually any extra capacity for upgrades in the first week of September? Thanks!

    AKL too far?

The room rates for AKL seem much lower than the other Deluxe Resorts. AKL always shows up as the cheapest on both the UK and US Disney sites. Does anyone know why this is?

    Disney Cruise for New Year's

They usually have big deck parties in the evening, with a countdown at midnight. In addition, they usually have a Gala Meal in all the restaurants. They have smaller events in some of the bars, but mostly the attention is focussed on the main Deck Party, with fireworks (weather permitting)...

    Canada Query?

This indicates Disney's real plans for the Canadian Pavillion (as verified by my brother's friends cousin, whose girlfriend is a seasonal CM at the Disney Store in Calgary): -A new mountain to cover Soarin', with a Brother Bear flume ride. -An audio animatronic special effects version of O...

What Disney Character are you most like?

I'd say Donald Duck as he's essentially a good guy, but known to be a bit hot headed! I think there's a bit of Stitch mixed in there as well...

how many more days for you?

99 days to go! Four days Wilderness Lodge and four days Animal Kingdom Lodge. Woo-hoo! :sohappy:

Pop Century Ghost Town - Why did construction Stop?

Maybe they'll change the plans slightly and build it as a DVC resort. DVC is still really popular, and this will provide enough capital to fund the rest of the building work.

    Disney to start hiring 15yo's

Not quite true. When WDW first opened, they employed only one in ten candidates. Now they employ one in three- which indicates that they may have lowered their standards. There's such a shortage of workers in Central Florida that no company can afford to be too picky. I think Disney are...

    Could someone help...

Yeah, this is a really good service. A (very nice) lady from WDW goes on board the ships on every Port Canaveral day, to make up the gift baskets and flower arrangements (I hope she's still there!). Then Housekeeping deliver them to the rooms before the guests arrive. I never dealt with one...

    Disney to start hiring 15yo's

And yet, they make it really difficult (virtually impossible) for well qualified, Disney-loving foreign candidates to work there on a permanent basis.
