Today I tried booking a trip to WDW for October 2013. I called once this after to get some specs as to price for a Lagoon View at the Grand Floridian, Club Level Lagoon View at Yacht Club, and for giggles, I asked about Polynesian (which had availability, even though we prefer not to stay...

In the beginning, we primarily stayed at the Grand Floridian (mostly because we are creatures of habit and liked the style.) The second time we went to Disney, the bellman that was delivering our bags said he had just delivered George Lucas's luggage. Crazy!!!

The Grand Floridian is my absolute favorite! It's the first resort I ever stayed at, the ambience is my style, I love feeling like royalty because the staff just has that extra special touch, and the location is superb.

I have always been staying there when I get them but I'm sure you could ask for one.

It depends on what kind of villa you are looking at. A studio has one queen bed and a pullout sofa, plus a kitchenette (sleeps up to 4.) A standard room could sleep four as well, but all people could be on a bed. The standard rooms are very similar (a bit bigger possibly) in size. I would go...

Would definitely pick Grand Floridian or Boardwalk.

The first time we went to Disney, we had a Magic Kingdom view room at the Grand Floridian and I can remember being able to hear the howling from the Haunted Mansion and thinking that was so cool.

It's dark, dated, dirty, spread out, smelly, and at the same time, it's totally Disney. Love visiting for dinner but I would never stay there.

The monorail resorts have the best shopping. Boardwalk is okay too but it's not in the hotel so they are not as easy to access.

I am totally biased to the Grand Floridian. It's my favorite resort! And the Polynesian is nostalgic and everything, but it's old and kinda crusty.

The reason why I find it worth spending the money to stay at the Grand Floridian is because I enjoy staying on the property almost as much as going to the parks.
