Hi All!

DH and I are going in the spring - feb or march - and we are going to the Resort Only! :) We are doing this on purpose. We felt like we missed so much of all the resorts have to offer so we want to stay only at a resort! And he told me one night wasn't enough - so we are doing 3 days and 2 nights! :) WOO HOO

Where would you stay and why?

Some particulars - we will have a car, it will be just the two of us, the idea is to rest and relax and enjoy what the resort has to order and do none park stuff that we miss each trip. The idea is to go in March ish - depending mostly on if a discount is offered. We are also planning on going to Disneyland in the fall if all things come together as planned so we will get some park time in the fall in CA.

Thank you!

I'd say Yacht Club. In my opinion it is the most "resorty" of all of the Disney hotels. It has IMHO the BEST pool on property and it really feels like you're on a vacation outside of WDW when you're there. Additionally you can walk to so many different things including the food and drinks of the boardwalk, mini golf, karaoke bar at the S&D, etc.

I picked the GF...I recall that you've stayed there before and really enjoyed it. I know the construction is a concern, but I can't imagine the GF wouldn't do everything possible to ensure that your stay is as quiet and comfortable as possible.

I picked Boardwalk, because it has a lot going on & it's beautiful. I also like walking to Fantasia mini-golf, for a non-park option. Matt & I rented the covered bikes there and rode around the Boardwalk loop. We walked the loop each morning, and got breakfast at the bakery. We walked it at night & found it very romantic. We went to ESPN Club to watch some of the NHL playoff games. We just all around love it there.

It looks like it is between Boardwalk and Grand Floridian - which happens to be where are heads are. I had a thought though...we are never in a room long enough to really enjoy it. So we would never pay for a Theme Park View. We are thinking of GF with a theme park view. Maybe Poly with a theme park view. But we are such GF people so we are torn between trying something new or staying where we love.

Uh-oh! Theme park view would make me want to go into the park! LOL! Good luck choosing. We have yet to make a trip to see some of these resorts. I really want to just walk around the board walk area. Maybe our next trip we can actually make some time to do it.

I've stayed at all 3. All fantastic resorts. However, for a resort-only stay, hands down, Boardwalk. There is so much to do there between swimming, shopping, miniature golf, renting watercraft. And that's just during the day. Add the excitement of the Midway and the clubs at night, it's just that much better.

The Poly, while beautiful, really gets kind of old after a few hours on the beach. And while the grounds are beautiful, I can't imagine hanging out there all day. Grand Floridian is sort of the same way. It's the most beautiful WDW Resort, but really isn't the type of place I'd see myself spending all day at without getting a little bored.

That's what I was thinking! How could you stay in a theme park view room and not go to the park? Have you ever stayed at the Boardwalk? If you've stayed at the GF and not the BW, I'd do the one you haven't done!

OMG. Disneygirl are you mad? That's like going to Paris and not seeing the Eiffel tower,or Niagara and missing out on the falls.Even when we went to Vegas we had to take in the Grand canyon as we were so close and would maybe never get another chance.Anyway it proves Iam not the only one whose mad here.I voted for WL because Iam hoping to stay there in our next visit. But even if I was staying 3 days & 2 nights.Nothing on earth could stop me visiting MK at least one night. To me the resort is a stopping off point on your way to visit the most magical place on earth.I rest my case.;)

If I was just staying at a resort and not going to the parks and staying on DVC points I would stay at Old Key West. Its quiet and you don't see a ton of people. If I were staying and paying cash I personally would choose the Polynesian, that way I get some extra Disney magic staying on a monorail line.
