Good Morning Folks.Watching a Disney vacation DVD last night of our first time at PORS and there was a scene where a CM was talking to us just on a bridge that crosses the old Sassagoula river from Parterre Place and I remember him telling us the story about tossing the dime and make a wish come true, and the story of the couple trying to start a family,as he walked away he shouted " don't forget to close your eyes " I looked at my DW last night after that scene and asked her to play it back. Then I asked her " who does he remind you of ?" My DW replied " Geppetto from Pinocchio" . Exactly correct my dear. It remains one of my favourite memories from PORS. Do you have a favourite memory from a resort stay in WDW?;)

It will always be the night of my dear son’s birthday; we let him plan his day which included Cirque de Soleil and dinner at the California Grill. As we stood on the roof and watched wishes we said to me “thanks dad this was the best day ever.” It made the saving and planning all worth it.
Where's my hankies.Thats one thing about memories..They last forever..;)

The first time we went to Disney, we had a Magic Kingdom view room at the Grand Floridian and I can remember being able to hear the howling from the Haunted Mansion and thinking that was so cool.

Staying at the POLY for the 1st time this year. Seeing Wishes from the beach, hearing the train whistle, watching and listening to the toots of the boats as they go by, sounds from the Luau, smells from 'Ohana, the lobby, the monorail, the beautiful grounds, etc...:D Not to mention celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary!:D

It was my son's first trip a year and a half ago. He was two and we stayed at All-Star Movies. By the 3rd day he knew the routine. He knew exactly how to get from our room to the buses. I can still see that sweet toddler running ahead of us with his first pair of mouse ears on, so excited for his next Disney day.

On our very first trip we stayed at ASM. We arrived late in the afternoon and decided to just explore the resort. DS was four at the time, and he had a ball just playing and swimming. The next morning when we awoke, we asked him "are you ready to go", meaning to the parks. He got visibly upset and said he did not want to leave Disney. He thought the resort was Disney.

After staying offsite for about 20 years, we stayed in a studio unit at Board Walk Villas on our anniversary trip.
So excited...When we got to the room, it was amazing, facing Epcot and the water, overlooking the grass courtyard above the Wyland Gallery area. I was convinced there was a mistake as we could not afford that view.
I humbly went back to the check in and inquired. "No, that's is your room, Happy Anniversary," said the cast member.
It only got better. The next day was our actual anniversary and after a long day at Epcot, when we returned to the room, there was a tray of the biggest, juiciest most delicious chocolate covered strawberries, with balloons and a card signed by Mickey and Minnie.
My wife swears she had nothing to do with it and I know I didn't. For the life of me, I don't remember even mentioning to the reservation people that it was an anniversary trip.
Since then we have stayed at many Disney resorts and while we love them all (especially WL) the memory of that first time onsite will always be special.
