The Full Package Resort.

Good Morning Everyone. Thinking back to my tour of other resorts whilst staying at Disney,I was wondering which resort,in your opinion has the full Disney package. What I mean is,which resort brings it all home what Disney world is all about. From location to dining, from swimming pools to entertainment, from theming to customer service. Now having only stayed at three different mods I can't really judge on deluxe, tho we have visited GF & Poly & AKL & WL and also this year Contemporary. So in the moderate resorts I'd vote for PORS just piping FQ. I must admit tho I'am hoping to stay at WL on my next visit. So where & why would you give the Full Package award .:)

Idk how "full package" they are though :)
Oops! Brain Freeze..Where is C@FTW, ? .? Hold on I think it's just popped in my head..Cabins at Fort Wilderness. If this is correct, what made you pick them ? Was it someone who recommended them. Ive never fancied the great outdoors theme, too many creepy crawlies and big bears..

WEll thats tough for me as I would personally NOT stay at the Contempoary again but it is was the original (Last time I stayed there I was 9) and there is something to be said for history, the Poly was the 2nd resort and Id happily stay there again...BUT for my family we prefer the Boardwalk...it a mini world inside the world itself. I love sitting on the balcony above the boardwalk looking out over the water...it brings inner peace and a happiness that I havent found any other place. The resort is fantastic with 2 other Deluxe resorts next to it..Epcot is a 5 minute walk..DHS a 20 minute walk...or you can catch a water taxi...great food...adult entertainment shops...funnel cakes...I always say Id like to stay at Wilderness Lodge...or AK...but never can seem to leave the Boardwalk

Yep!! Sorry, was on my phone, so it's a pain to type out...lol

We originally picked them because we were bringing my MIL along and I really wanted her to have her own sleeping area, so the kids weren't on her ALL day and night! We wanted her to have some kind of privacy. It was perfect because the kiddos were able to go sleep in the bunk beds, we could close the door and be in the kitchen/dining room/living room without waking anyone up. Or sitting out on our private deck! It was soooooooooooo nice!!

I loved the ferry ride to and of from MK! It was the perfect end to a long day, watching the sun go down on the lake and just.....relaxing :D

Having stayed at all levels of resorts, but not all resorts. Between the POLY and GF, GF hands down is the winner. The service was much better, entertainment was great, pools are amazing, views spectacular, great restaurants. Poly has theme, so does GF. Everything at Poly has to go to GF, meaning the spa, nighttime movie, signature dining. Service at GF was awesome, from being greeted at the lobby, to the ride to our room, finishing off with turn down service. GF really does go out of there way to be the grand daddy of all resorts in my opinion. Heck, we even got a bottle of champagne and a rose for our anniversary. Class all the way without the snobbynesss we thought it would be. Robes for the pool, hot tub, it had it all.

Boardwalk for us it's now our Home Resort. It has everything, entertainment, good pool, great theme through out. Beach and Yacht Club which gives even more dining options, and within walking distance of 2 parks (or a short boat ride away) We loved the Beach Club with Stormalong bay, but getting DVC points was better at the Boardwalk.

I would say anything in the Epcot area.
Non-bus transportation to 2 theme parks. (3 if you go through epcot to take monorail to MK)
Great restaurants.
Spacious rooms
Great service
I'm not a pool person, but Stormalong Bay is quite popular.

The Fort is the only resort I have stayed at as well. There is just something about the Fort that is tough to explain unless you have stayed there. It just feels like home. Maybe this is because we stay in our own RV, but I think there is more to it because I've never felt that way about any other campground. People are always out and about and we have met some great people while staying there. I can't say that I have ever made a friend when I stayed at a hotel room, but I have made plenty at the Fort. The MK is just a boat ride away, you can go roast marshmallows at the campfire sing-along with Chip and Dale and then stay for a movie, The Hoop-de-doo Musical Review is a hoot, looping around the campground in a golf cart is a blast and if you go around the holidays, there are quite a few campers that go all out decorating their sites. There is enough to do there, that some people go to the Fort for a week without spending a single day in the parks ***gasp!!*** It may not be what some would consider 'Full Package', but we love it!

Right?. I totally agree, it's so hard to describe unless you're there!! Our neighbors in the cabins made muffins and brought us some one morning! We'd chit chat on the way to the bus stop and it was so nice to see people out jogging, riding bikes, sight seeing and just the overall hustle and bustle and yet so peaceful and quiet! :D

My Favorite resort is the Contemporary Resort. However, because you are asking me what resort has the best overall "Disney feel", I have to jump on the bandwagon here, and say the Boardwalk Resort. Disney did such a great job portraying the Jersey boardwalk at the turn of the nineteenth century. I have stayed there, and I must say, it was amazing, how I really felt I was in a different world.

I've stayed at the Grand Floridian and Beach Club Resorts and loved them both.

GF - I always asked for a Theme Park View room in the Conch Key building and we were able to view the fireworks from our room as well as the Electrical Light Parade on the Seven Seas Lagoon. I love the lobby as it is so grand and you can just sit there and people watch and listen to the live music being played. The stores are nice, love the bath store, and they have many restaurants available. Gasparilla Grille is not that great though but IMO everything else is great.

BC - The view we had at the BC was of the Boardwalk and Crescent Lake. I liked the lobby but the GF lobby is so much better. I was able to sit and people watch but the live music at the GF is a great touch. The walk to Epcot is great and when my mom would take a rest, I would walk on over to EPCOT, grab a drink and walk around World Showcase. The food court was not great either.

IMO, the GF is the Total Package. They offer fine dining to casual dining, rooms/suites with fantastic views to standard view rooms. The decor and theme of the resort is great. They also offer services on the Seven Seas Lagoon.

You guys are making me think that we'll have to try GF sometime. It just seems so...stuffy. My wife LOVES the Polynesian. I like it as well, but I really like how convenient it is. I'd LOVE AKL if it were on the monorail. Actually I do really enjoy staying there, but I don't care for the bus rides.
