Brown Derby - Fantasmic Dinner Package

I've done the Fantasmic Dinner Package at the Brown Derby and probably wouldn't do it again. While we love the food there, and were able to order anything off the menu as per our dining plan, there were a few things we didn't like. The first was; they require a very early dinner (like 5:00), we...

Ever revisit a restaurant and wish you had skipped?

We started out trying to eat everywhere and do everything also, but overtime we started acquiring too many favorite restaurants. Now, if we can fit something new in (in each visit) it's a major victory. Leaving the parks to go have dinner in a resort is so time consuming, and the parks just...

Ever revisit a restaurant and wish you had skipped?

    Cali Grill Refurb?

I think I heard a rumor that the Cali Grill refurb is being done by the same firm that is building the Seven Dwarfs Mine Coaster.

    QS at DHS

If your not on a dining plan you might want to try this, make ADR's at Mama Melrose's, order a couple of flat breads or other appetizers (no entrees) and leave. The appetizers always come out fast. You might even have time to squeeze in a dessert or two.

    Free Disney Dinnig?

We go every year in August and for the last three years I received a advertisement with a 30% off resort pin number in the mail every January. So far, no pin number this year! I booked our trip like usual in February in order to make our 180 day ADR's, but I am constantly looking for some...

Ever revisit a restaurant and wish you had skipped?

Our favorite Disney Restaurant used to be Narcoossees. Unfortunately it seems to get worse every year. When my daughter was finally old enough for the adult dinning plan, she ordered her first lobster dinner here. She said she didn't like it and it was bad. We thought she didn't know what she...

    Tommorowland Terrace Dessert Party!!

I've been lucky enough to get reservations a few times for this (sometimes you have better odds in powerball) and I will never complain. $25.00 seems like a bargain since I think we were paying something like $35.00 for it, I guess it depends on when you go. The reserved seating for the parade...

    Best Breakfast

We stay at the Poly just to get this for breakfast. We have it delivered by room service in the mornings to save time. However, If your on the dining plan it's not worth using two credits for it, so just bill it to your room.

    Tusker House for lunch?

The breakfast at the Tusker House is the Donald Safari Show and if not the best of the overall (Food & Characters) breakfast shows, it's right up there (our personal fav). As for lunch we prefer Yakl & Yeti over Tusker House. I don't know if you really want to do two buffets in one day, and the...

    Where to Eat?

The Three Broomsticks is more a cafeterria style restaurant than sit down type of place. There Menu is very limited. Go to the Universal Orlando web page, click Dinning, and than click the Three Broomsticks picture. It gives their menu in the restaurant description. I had breakfast there last...

    Where to Eat?

Also check out the Dinning section of their (Universal Orlando) website, which now offers full menus for almost all their restaurants. This feature wasn't available until about a year ago.

    Two Universal questions

Try to get seats in the "poncho section" except for one small part of the show the ponchos aren't really needed (you don't actually get "wet"). The closer you are to the stage the better (their facial expressions are big part of the show).

    Where to Eat?

What we like to do is; have Lunch in the parks and Dinner either in City Walk or one of the Hotels after the parks close. In IOA, Mythos is far and away the best (like so many others mentioned) but the Confisco grill is also very good. In US our fav is Lombards Seafood Grill (by far the best in...

    Two Universal questions

Yes, as of my last show in August 2012, their was no "recycled (as they like to note)" product at the end.

    Royal Pacific vs Hard Rock

After staying the last several years at the Hard Rock Hotel, we booked the Royal Pacific for this summers trip. While we still love the HR Hotel, we simply hate their restaurants. We have never been fans of the "Kitchen" and the "Palm" is just so over priced. We believe that Emeril's Tchoup Chop...

    Two Universal questions

I honestly feel that the revamped version of BMG isn't as good as the old one. They changed the show early last year and for the most part it's the same show. It's still a fun show that we actually see every year but we kind of missed the old ending (which was more fun) and don't want to give...

The "Wantilan Luau" @ the Royal Pacific; Any Thoughts?

Thanks for the feedback, it's been very helpful. I was also wondering if the show is completely outdoors and subject to the mercy of the weather. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The "Wantilan Luau" @ the Royal Pacific; Any Thoughts?

After staying for the last six years at The Hard Rock Hotel, we have decided to stay at the Royal Pacific Resort this year. Mainly due to the better dining options. We love Emeril’s Tchoup Chop and eat there at least twice per trip so we are confident about this one, but are curious about the...
