We will be at DHS for a few hours in the evening in a couple of weeks. We have no dining reservations and it occured to me that I have no idea where we should eat dinner  . We have always done a TS for dinner, but since we only have a few hours we don't want to waste the time on TS. Please give us your suggestions for QS for dinner!

Thanks everyone :D

My humble opinion...get outta there. Take a walk or boat to yacht club, and check out Hurricane Hannah's, or take the boat all the way to Epcot. My DD got a burger from ABC commissary once, won't be back. Even the fries were gross. Seriously, how do you mess up French fries?

Hahahaha, I know it's not the best, but DD will only have a few hours to torture us with all her favorites so we won't really have time to leave the parks.

One is as good as the next. I prefer the Commissary, but it isn't because the food is better. It's just a little less nerve-jangling than the one where its like you're in some abandoned garage (I forget the name of it.)

I try not to eat in this park.

If your not on a dining plan you might want to try this, make ADR's at Mama Melrose's, order a couple of flat breads or other appetizers (no entrees) and leave. The appetizers always come out fast. You might even have time to squeeze in a dessert or two.

We have lots of threads on QS at DHS, and pretty much it has the worst across-the-board food in all the Disney parks...but, the burgers are exactly the same as everywhere else in the World, and the fries are the same...
ABC Commissary decreases their staffing in the evening and your wait will be ridiculously long, even if you are the only one in line -- expect 10-15 minutes just to GET your order, let alone eat it. Avoid it.
Backlot Express probably has the best options, and their sandwiches are better than the other theme park fare. Its noisy, but often not crowded at all, especially in the evening.
Pizza Planet...you'll get your food pretty quickly in the evening, but their pizza is the cardboard-pizza they serve all over WDW....kind of like a step-down from the frozen variety from your refrigerator at home
As someone suggested, appetizers at Mamma Melroses are quite fast, and you can walk in during the evening without needing reservations -- BUT, its not guaranteed, and it will still take you 30-40 minutes vs 10-15 minutes at a quickservice restaurant.

My personal suggestion -- if you are only going to be there for a couple hours, do not get ANYTHING there to eat -- either grab something on the way there (if driving, even McDonalds is better than anything at DHS) or go somewhere afterwards.

I always thought Backlot Express and Rosies was decent. If you've never been to ABC comm. , good--stay away.

As I am sure you have noticed there are not many options dining wise in DHS, but after many trips I have figured out which CS & TS options are the best.
For CS I believe Backlot Express to be the best option for a couple of reasons: It's clean, not super busy, the food is great and they offer a good variety. Starring Rolls is also another favorite of ours especially when you combine it with the menu found at Min & Bills which is not to far away, the only draw back to SR is that they close at 4pm so its not a late night option. Recently Studio Catering Co. has revamped their menu and the food is better but I find the seatting area to be loud, crowded, and a bit dirty.
Hope this helps!:)

If you still find that none of the CS options strike your fancy then as someone else had posted consider taking a short boat ride or brisk walk over to the Boardwalk area resorts and try:
Cabana Pool Bar & Beach Club (Dolphin)
The Fountain (Dolphin)
Hurricane Hanna's (Y&BCR)
Picabu (Dolphin)
Splash Terrace & Grill (Swan)
