    Splash Mountain Announcement for Disneyland

Its funny you mention that, because for a few weeks now I've been debating leaving myself. I started small and made the choice to not go on here over weekends and wow, did it make a difference! But leaving entirely always seemed... a bit too drastic, especially since there are still people...

    Splash Mountain Announcement for Disneyland

I'm sure the source material was considered problematic... but they clearly felt that they had distinguished Splash from SOTS enough so as to not raise a fuss. After all, how silly of them to clone an attraction in 2 other parks if they truly felt it was so controversial.

    Splash Mountain Announcement for Disneyland

For one thing, they were thinking with 1980's sensibilities... not 2021's. That's not an "excuse" or a "cop out", just a statement of fact. They also didn't live with social media and all it's accompanying "outrage" culture. "Hey, here are some fun cartoon characters that have sat dormant...

    Jungle Cruise Update

Today Disney released a trailer for their Behind the Attraction series coming to D+ in a few days, and it contains a snippet from the Jungle Cruise film, where... you guessed it... The Rock's character makes the "backside of water" joke... (0:36 seconds in). Have to say though, I am looking...

    Breaking Points

If Disneyland ever permanently removes/re-themes Pirates or Haunted Mansion, I would be very hard-pressed to find a desire to go. As others have said, the slow decaying of Disney's standards and overall quality has really been felt in a tremendous way. My wife and I purchased APs back in 2017...

Disney has not, is not, and never will be responsible for filling in the gaps left by a flawed American education system.

I definitely agree with your list and it being death by a thousand cuts. Any one of those things on their own wouldn't move the needle too much (except perhaps GE, but when you add it up over time... yikes). Having said that, turning Main St. into "Mickey Avenue" would definitely push me...

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

It is interesting to wonder what my “tipping point” would be to fully stop going to the parks. I hope I’ll never have to find out. But, the older I get (I’m still in my 30s) the more I find myself craving things from the past. There is increasingly less and less in the modern world that I...

Or they could just... keep things the way they are now? You're right, I am getting stuck on the queue. Because when I hear "the queue will be closed" I'm visualizing people in a physical line at max capacity... at all times. That's the only reason it would make sense to me to close it. Or...

I think ultimately, thats my biggest problem. How does potentially losing the ability to ride something (unless you pay an uncharge), equate to a better overall Park experience? Like I said earlier, it just seems like blatant greed, with zero return to the consumer.

You need that L in there, because otherwise you're talking about how much you love ED... They were smart to change the name.

I'm sorry, and I know @lazyboy97o has been explaining it too, but I just don't understand how a queue can be "full" all day. When I went back in June during social distancing, I experienced a queue "closure" and I was just encouraged to wait 10-15 minutes for it to die back down. We decided to...

This just might be the most blatantly greedy thing Disney has ever tried. Wanna guarantee you get to ride your favorite ride on your visit?? Just pay us more! Let's hope this is DOA, stateside.
