The flavored popcorn is a big tado in the asian parks, I've seen pics before of people lined up in a very long line for it! It's suppose to be delicious, hopefully Disneyland's is too!:)

World of Color review with photos...

Hi everyone.
I was lucky enough to see the World of Color dress rehearsal in person! But of course am sworn to secrecy until the opening.

So I wanted you to know that I will have a complete review with additional photos and interviews with the WOC creators up on June 10th at 9:01pm.(on The Daily Disney website)

(I have some photos up now at The Glamorous Life Association)

I will also be attending the premier night and party. Doing some on camera interviews with more Disney insiders. That will be up on the site June 11th.

There is a lot to talk about. Lots of new options and changes and things happening this summer with Disney.

And I am pleased to be able to bring it all to you!!!

^ welcome! and thank you for the pictures.

The Disney Parks Blog shared a new picture of WoC art, it will be featured in the new merchandise for the show

With only a couple weeks before the opening of “World of Color” and with the excitement building, I wanted to make sure you got a sneak peek at the art our teams have put together over the past few months, all leading to the inspiration and development of our “World of Color”-themed merchandise. Several of our favorite Disney characters will appear in a spectrum of items, including tees, fleece and hats.

Some of you may notice that this art reflects our Disney’s California Adventure park name. These will be some of the last items with that look. Be on the lookout for pieces with the new logo that was recently unveiled.

D23.com has a new article about the show: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2010/06/a-colorful-new-look/

It's not all fantasy and frolic, though. The 25-minute, twice-nightly spectacle also dives into some of the darker moments that define Disney films. "It gets pretty scary," Steve admits. Depicted on enormous fountains — taller than Mickey's Fun Wheel! — The Lion King's stampede scene and The Princess and the Frog's "Friends on the Other Side" send chilling waves of fear through the audience. At one point the entire bay is engulfed in flames, another one of the water pageant's impressive effects. "You let people's minds control how the show is viewed — from shooting water to dramatic things that come after you," he points out. "At times it's pure dance and at others it's pure drama."

and going back to the WoC-themed food, here's the company that makes the light-up cotton candy: http://www.glocone.com/storefront/shop/default2.aspx looking at their home page, notice Paradise Pier in the background :)

^Ick. Don't like the official art. Why did they use a Lion King 2 picture? Disney gets too lazy with art and promo commercials.

also, this week is your last chance to see the World of Color exhibit at the Blue Sky Cellar.

an update from Al Lutz about the Blue Sky Cellar refresh -

Editor's Note 6/3: After the Toy Story Musical exhibit for the Blue Sky Cellar was axed along with the show itself last month, WDI has fast-tracked their exhibits on the Little Mermaid and Goofy's Sky School attractions. The rushed displays will now debut in the Blue Sky Cellar preview center on June 11th. Once you've grabbed your World of Color Fastpass that morning, head over to the preview center to check out the next new attractions coming to DCA in less than a year's time. - Al Lutz

I just entered the World of Color trivia contest at the Disney Parks Blog - 50 winners will be selected. The winners will receive 2 tickets to the red carpet event/grand opening ceremony, and reserved seating for the premiere show! *crossing my fingers!*

The World of Color Showcase events began today and will continue through the weekend. The showcase, held at Stage 17 in DCA, is a CM exclusive; they will learn about the show, the new merch and food offerings, etc. Here's additional info on some of the new food offerings (posted by disneylandkitty):

* Multi-flavored colored popcorn: Red cherry, blueberry and purple grape popcorn mixed in with kettle corn and served in a see-through World of Color souvenir bucket.
* Light-Up Cotton Candy: A glow stick illuminates white and color-swirled cotton candy from the inside.
* Spectrum Splash: A variety of beverage flavors – red cherry, blueberry, grape and Granny Smith apple served in a light-up cup.
* Tropical Mist Cocktail (for guests over 21): Passion fruit and mango liqueur with coconut rum and a light-up swivel stick.

Carnivale of Color is now listed in DL's Calendar. As of now it is only listed for June 11, but i'm pretty sure it will be a nightly preshow.

Uh... I immediately thought of that wonderful old movie Auntie Mame, where Mame has to endure Mr. Upson's hand-made daiquri's on the patio... "And yet it's sooooo sweet."

As long as they are serving cocktails for this show (and I applaud that move!), let's hope there's some other options for those of us who don't want a melted slurpee with rum poured in, but would rather have something a tad more mature when it's cocktail time.

Maybe a summer Mojito with the obligatory light-up swivel stick instead?

A new WoC promotion has taken over the park -- tubes of World of Color paint adorn floral planters throughout the park:

yeah, I think I might explode with excitement. I never win anything!!

back to WoC news, here's a video of the new Picnic boxes

http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2010/06/video-of-world-of-color-picnic-meals/

so far I've heard great reviews for these from people who have tried them. I predict these will be very popular! $14, and you get a reserved spot for the show.
Yeah, I'm thinking about getting the picnic package. $14 isn't bad at all. That's cheaper than other meals I get at the resort, and it comes with a reserved spot! Quite the deal. How does one go about making a reservation for them?

edit: Just kidding, I watched the video.
