What did you do?

I did 6 miles at 10:06 pace...
Nothing compared to you experienced folks, but still my 3rd longest run of the last 2.5 months....

It was one of those days that just didn't feel good, and I thought about cutting off some of the length, but decided I would rather do 6 at any pace than 5 or 5.5 at a faster pace, so I stuck with it. Pretty easy to stick with it when you are 3 miles from home as well, as there isn't an easy way to stop. Maybe that is why I always try to run away from my house :)

I am going to do another short run Friday, and then put in 10 on Sunday.

Running 100 Miles!!!! Oh My God--that just sounds like pure torture!
YOU ARE A RUNNING MACHINE! :king:
Really good luck with your training and let us know where this is. I would love to be out there along the course cheering you on.

NJ Ultra Festival, March 19, 2011...100 miler

It is near us (somewhat)

It is out by Schooleys Mountain by Washington Township.

It's about 50 miles from my house - hey I could just run there and back - no problem. :)

I would have run it if they had a 1/2 marathon option, but the shortest they have is a full. Maybe next year I'l do their 50K, you never know.

Just looking at last years results, the last place finisher did the 100 miles in 29 hours. I really do think I could do that. Maybe there is a 100 miler in my future (but not in 2011)

I think we should get him to run in the Self Transcendance race - 3,100 miles with a 51 day sweep time - yes, you read that right 3,100 miles. And it is all running around and around a roughly half mile block in Jamaca, Queens.

The current record holder is 41 day 8 hours, thats 75 miles a day for a almost 8 weeks straight - cake :)

I'm looking to finish in 22 hours, but it might be actually 24-25 hours. :D

But, by the time you finish your 8 miles, I'm just reaching mile 5...darn short legs. I guess the high mileage is my over-compensation :D
I hope all my calculations are correct. I did find an error on mapmyrun were it double backed and added that .2 a mile.

I would hate to be running these distances and they be off, which would make all my times off.

:lookaroun that would really suck.

That's only about an hour from me. Hmmmmm...I may just have to take a ride up there. And I'll bring my Pom-pom of course "GOOOOOOOOO Donald Duck!!!!":sohappy:
That would be fun to go and watch. Go Nick.

4.7 miles this morning (the run home from the office again) in 44:11.

I also signed up the Tallahassee 1/2 Marathon on Super Bowl Sunday, which will be my first half.:)

10 miles planned for Sunday morning.

It's supposed to start snowing in Georgia this afternoon so I did 14 miles this AM. We do the present thing on Christmas Eve. I think Jeff Galloway throws in the 14-miler to get you ready mentally. I'm mental alright. I can barely walk right now. Once I get moving I'm OK but it hurts like heck to get started after sitting for a while!

Merry Christmas and TWO MORE WEEKS!!! :sohappy:

My first 10 mile run, 10.20 @10:39 per mile.

With the wind (15-25MPH) and the temps (low 30's), I was only 6 seconds slower per mile than last weeks run that was 8.81 miles. If I can keep working on it, I should be able to complete my first 1/2 marathon in 2:20 or less, which I will be very pleased with.

Haven't done anything since Wednesday. Darn Christmas Holiday (traveling, wrapping gifts, baking, etc...) getting in my way of training! And the wonderful snowstorm in the NE is keeping me from my run today. Definitely don't want to run and slip on some snow/ice and hurt myself two weeks for the race. Back home tomorrow and back into my training routine.

16 miles this am. The snow was coming down this morning in Birmingham. The streets were a bit icy too, but if you know me, there is a very short list of things that will keep me from my schedule. This aint one of them.

It was actually kind of nice. It made me really focus on 2-3 feet in front of me. It slowed me down too to a 8:30 pace overall.

Fun facts:
1907 calories burned (take that Christmas fatty foods)
436 feet climbed overall (hilly course to say the least)

3.5 miles last night. Had to squeeze it in, as I won't be able to run until Wednesday again. I'm hoping to put up 11-12 miles that day and then taper off and rest up.
