They would need to have it priced at the same price of hoop dee doo's cat 1. Well yes disney would be able to overcome any of the issues mentioned but it matters how much money it would take to retrofit the liberty belle. I think it would be cheaper and easier if they built a boat from scrap.

I agree that there isn't any issue mentioned above that can't be overcome with money. A new boat may not be cheaper. Liberty Bell is so detailed it is very expensive to replicate that sort of authenticity.

I would love to see them leave the Liberty Bell active for the kinetic environment as mentioned several times in this thread. A restaurant themed to the river could be added landside and made up as a customs house or "casino". A loop could be added at either end of the cresent loop for the Liberty Bell allowing it to continue to run. Access to the repurposed island could be around the side of BTMR.

Well you would need to look at how much it will cost to gut the liberty belle and then add the needed structural supports for the facilities being added along with the cost of the new facilities.

How about this.

A complete New Orleans District directly next to a Hudson Valley Haunted Mansion?
BTW I don't think a New Orleans District belongs into the MK.

I know this has been discussed by a few people on here but I really think this would be short sighted to be the next major expansion to any of the parks.

If a fixed dollar amount is available for park improvements it seems illogical to put that into the park that just received a major addition.

With that said, I'm not sure that's exactly how things work - perhaps someone else can clarify, but are budgets approved on a per project basis? Meaning that if no reasonable projects are being proposed for the other 3 parks, and a reasonable project is proposed for the Magic Kingdom, the project will be given the go ahead regardless of whether or not it's the biggest need for the parks?

Talk about further killing the representation of the Westward Expansion that was so careful crafted between Liberty Square and Frontierland.

What boat was this?

The picture with the couple listening to the music near the Contemporary was the Southern Seas II on a moonlight cruise. The boat held about 150 and was a side wheeler.

The plans were for a proposed larger party boat.

Since most people never had a chance to sail on them, I can tell you first hand they were awesome. Which is why a show boat would be so cool to take the best of the past and plus it up to totally amazing levels.

Turning the River Belle into a restaurant would never work. Big reason is it's too small for tables, curved decks, no bathrooms, no elevator. Look at the other TS restaurants, you need a certain number of tables to break even, you just can't fit that many on the boat.

A better idea is to build a proper sized real showboat with kitchens and dinner show which would cruise Bay Lake and 7 Seas with dockings at the MK after each show. It could be used for Moonlight Cruises, Fireworks viewing, Conventions and Private Parties. Now you have a boat restaurant that's cool.

However it's done, a nicely themed boat restaurant would work for WDW.

Is that Wally Boag and Betty Taylor?

Well I don't know how it would be complete without an attraction. It would be kind of next to it, but we have a german/alpine themed fantastyland next to the same hudson valley haunted mansion.

I feel kind of cheated that MK doesn't have a NO district, what DL has looks so good. This area would be kind of smaller and wouldn't be a <shudder> clone. To each their own; also I don't see disney or tdo just adding a restaurant.

Would it though? I was thinking that this area would be kind of hidden from most of the areas of ROA but would be viewed from the fort and liberty belle.

Thanks. I got info about it at a fansite to the wdw's water transportation.

I think having this same kind of ship doing shows/booze cruises would be a great addition to the parks. It also would fill that hole that is PI.

Looking through the site, I cam upon an artist's rendering of the first Southern Seas. I really wish that disney would do more renderings like this.

That's pretty far from all of the action though. It would be difficult to shoehorn it into MK, but it would be more successful there.

Well, yeah. I can see Tiana's working at FQ, but Disney would need to build it as shown in the movie. They can not get away with reopening one of the closed restaurants and calling it Tiana's. I know that is probably what they will do, and it would do so much disservice to the images that the artists created.

At this point, it will be hard to shoehorn most things into MK. Tron is going to be hard to add, if MK and TL would be the destination. We have princessland, but Tangled's creators produced alot of good settings that might not be easily transported into a small area. There is the need of more pirates stuff, and the question is how could it be done right.

Well done sir.

Well it isn't my best illustration, but it kind of gets the point across.

I think it would look like how it does in the movie:

With the area around it having some of the french quarter architecture and narrow streets.

French-Quarter-800.jpg

This area would be small, but would have area to expand if needed to.

I just don't think they need a New Orleans square in Florida. Leave that to Disneyland where it is designed, and not hemmed in.

There is no reason they can't theme this to the wild West.

We have Liberty Square instead.
