Just watched Ashleigh McIver in an interview.. frig, she's a babe.

We were talking about that at work last night. Most of our women athletes, and quite a few from other countries too (*cough* Lindsey Vonn *cough*) look like supermodels at these games. Personally, I think Ashleigh McIvor has Vonn beat, but all these girls have a certain Jewel (the singer) look to them. And is it just me or did anyone else happen to notice how white their teeth are when they are being interviewed. They must get free teeth whitening before every interview!!! :D

Joannie Rochette wins Bronze in women's Figure Skating after her mother died of a massive heart attack after arriving in Vancouver to watch her skate. She skated anyway and was third after the Short Program and held onto third in the Free Skate tonight.

An incredibly brave young woman.

It's one of the reasons why the Winter Olympics are so much better thant the summer ones.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I was choked up watching her short program and seeing her free skate tonight was just fantastic.

One of the few times when us men prefer a fully clothed woman over a barely clothed one is what I guess we are getting at!:ROFLOL:

What a woman....my heart goes out to her and her family! And to still go out under those circumstances and give a performance like she did, she earned more than just a bronze medal in my eyes (and probably EVERY other Canadian's too)!

I heard on the radio today that because Joannie Rochette's father only speaks French, on top of all the practices and the actual competition, she had to accompany him to get all the paper work done resulting from her mother's passing, including the travel arrangements, etc. What a courageous and strong woman!

That' swhat I meant, but it's sad for me cuz I'm in America. I understand that you are happy and that if I lived in Canada I would be too, buuuut since I'm in America it's like a big fart. =( O well what happened happened.

I didn't actually see the DQ, so can't say if it was deserved or not. I know Ohno was a strong favourite, so I appreciate your disappointment.

Nothing personal, but I'm hoping you're disappointed again Sunday in hockey!

I didn't see the race with Ohno either I just heard from a lot of people. Also excuse my absent knowledge of the olympics right now but which gender in hockey faces off on sunday?

Ohno touched or grabbed the skater in front of him on one of the turns, thus resulting in him being disqualified. Sunday sees the U.S. play the Canadian men for gold in hockey. The Canadian women already beat the U.S. women for gold on Thursday night.

If the Canadian squad plays Sunday like they did last night, they will have a hard time winning the gold. Will they be crushed under the intense pressure of a nation? Will Greasey Bob(Roberto Luongo) cave in under the pressure like he has been known to do in big games? Will Canada bring the lumber and hit, hit and hit some more?

Will Miller be able to carry the team on his back again? Is Kane finally heating up and ready to put the team on his back? Will the younger US legs prevail over the more experienced Canadian team?

So many questions and it should be fun to watch the answer.

After the loss earlier to the US squad, I think Canada will be bringing it... I don't think it will be anything similar to that first game. Both teams have what it takes, I think it'll come down to heart.

You're right, one way or the other it's going to be a helluva game!

Canada has the size advantage, and will spend a lot of time in the US zone hitting everything that moves. I think it will come down to goaltending. If Miller stands on his head the US wins.
