So...

If Canada wins gold in hockey... We will better the record for most golds by a Host country we already hold, create a new record for most golds by any individual country in a Winter Olympics and as all the Coca-Cola ads up here say, show the world whose game they're playing! :king:

Of course, who knows, maybe we'll get gold in the Men's 50 km Cross-Country Skiing? Granted, less likely, but...

It had to be him, didn't it.

I won't say anything else about the goal scorer, but congrats Canada. That was the best game I've ever seen.

Best game I've seen in years!

But dang! My heart can't take finishes like that!

Good game for both teams. USA can hold their heads high, they have no shame in silver.

Completely agree.

We can only hope this helps turn people onto the NHL for the rest of the year and gives the ratings a nice little spike.

Definitely--the NHL could really use the bump. Hopefully this will also convince the league to let its players return to the 2014 Olympics.

I also agree with the sentiments that it was a great game, and that I wish anyone but Crosby scored the final goal. I cannot stand him.

It is always so odd that the Gold and Bronze winners in hockey are happy because they just won to get there and the Silver are sad because they just lost to get there. My answer to that is the USA just WON Silver! No shame in that, particularly after the way they played that game! :sohappy:

I've never seen my husband so happy, including our wedding day. He is so proud to be Canadian right now. He says he just can't put into words what hockey means to that country.

Never been a huge Crosby fan, but I have to admit it was touching to see him recieve his medal.

Ugh...anyone but Cindy to score the winner. That's all that I had asked.

Great game by all and GUTS shown by the US squad to pop that one in past Greasey in the last minute. Congrat's to the Canadians and not a bad showing by the youngest team in the tourney. Greasey Bob was shaky to say the least. You can bet it was said by the coaching staff to try and not let any shots get to the net. And you know the US coaches were saying to fire everything on net and see what happens.

I was totally against seeing the NHL players in the Olympics, but Damn...that was an awesome game. Luckily nobody got injured and the real quest begins again.

I've posted this many times tonight elsewhere but it deserves repeating: these Closing Ceremonies have never made me more proud of our country's sense of humour. :sohappy:

I agree 1000%!!!! Especially after they got the other arm to come up and Catriona Le May Doan FINALLY got to light hers! The whole skit before this with the worker guy plugging it in and all that was priceless!

Congratulations to Vancouver for a wonderful Winter Olympics and congrats to ALL the athletes from around the world who competed and made them so fun to watch!!!

Even though I am a Canadian, I cannot stand Sidney Crosby! It is mostly the fact that he is shoved down our throats on a daily basis and I just got so sick of hearing how great he was by everyone in hockey. And being a Wings fan doesn't help either. He pretty much floated around this whole tournament (with the exception of a couple of timely goals - the one in OT comes to mind) and did absolutely zero these last three games. And I said to my wife before the game, watch him end up scoring in a shootout or in OT to add to his legend. And he goes out and does it! :brick:

Don't get me wrong...I am a proud Canadian and just glad that we were able to pull it out against a very good U.S. team. It was truly a GREAT game and showcased why hockey is such an exciting sport! Kudos to both teams for playing their hearts out! :sohappy:

I think I liked the opening ceremonies better than the closing ceremonies, but they were still good. I loved the part with the clown and the fixing of the fourth torch pillar. That was a stroke of genius.
