I saw the cake in person and thought it was pretty cool. But if that was the first and only trip I would make to Disney I would have been a little disappointed. I think everyone wants to see the Castle they imagine on that first visit.

Love your pics! The one named 'old_101' is Comedian/Musician Denny Zavett in the Baton Rouge Lounge on the Empress Lily. Denny was a regular at Disney for over 18 years and played on the Lily for a number of years - here's mine of the Baton Rouge Lounge 1983:

I liked the plaza trees, but by the 90s they were becoming too big. Even with pruning the large branches ending at perfect cuts would have looked ridiculous. I appreciate the open plaza we have now, but it lacks *something*.

I don't know if its something wrong with me or my eyes but the paint job on the castle def. seems different.
