The New Fantasyland

A family isn't going to make the extra trip to florida for some new theming and a couple of extra meet and greats. Sorry.

You can't assume that. As a 29 year old male who just found out last week I'm having a baby princess of my own around Thanksgiving, I can't wait to get down there with her and my wife to explore this new land in 2011, 2012...perfect timing for her to start appreciating the World.

We would all like to see 10 more E tickets added to each park but it's not going to happen. These blueprints have excited me to come back after having a honeymoon there last October, but next time to see it through the eyes of a 2 or 3 year old...can't wait.

C'est vrai. People fall in love with MK as a child, but when they go back as an adult (or even as a teenager as many of us did), it would be cool to have something new and more suited for their age, so it's not 100% nostalgia.
There was. It was called Alien Encounter.

Hey ho....

I am still reading through, but I do have a comment on the spur line railroad tracks. I would really like to see cars that are more real than cartoon. Full size (well, full size for the narrow gage Walt Disney World Railroad) circus cars would be so much more immersive. The Magic Kingdom could use more reality and less blatant fakery.

I feel that anything new that is added to a place we all love is a bonus no matter what. Who cares who or what its focused for. Its there for us to enjoy. I know I will enjoy exploring this as soon as its complete. It hasn't even been announced yet and I want it done already!

I tend to not read your posts. You write like a high school freshman that just got dumped by her boyfriend.

then don't comment on it in the future. Thats very trollish and childish behavior.

It was actually a very positive post which totally contradicted your response to it making you look like a youknowwhat.

But take into account that you are a fanboy and were probably going to show up in 2011/2012 no matter what they build to spend time with your daugther.

Im talking the general public.

You are not getting what I'm saying. Look at the blueprints approach to the new restaurant. You are obviously approaching a castle like structure over a moat. I'm wondering if they are adding a forced perspective facade at the back of the new Fantasyland. It would help block the IaSW show building and the back of the facade could be unthemed.

Gotcha.

I can't imagine they would do that with the "real" castle right behind it... But maybe they'd do something like they did for Queen of Hearts banquet Hall in Tokyo? I thought that looked great, and didn't compete with the real castle at all... It was basically a VERY forced perspective landscape from the movie, with a little tiny castle VERY far away.

That might work.

EDIT TO ADD: Found a pic from my trip of the Queen of Hearts Hall...

No arguments there, fanboy through and through. Now the right marketing for this new "land" and there will be tons of parents hearing how much their princesses want to go to WDW after they see 5 or 6 commercials a night on the Disney Channel.

"fanboys foaming at the mouth over nothing"

Yea...you sound like you really think this is a positive addition. But I'm not going to argue with someone who makes their online identity by acting generally vile and that they know more than anyone else.

Exactly. I look at it this way, we're finally getting a replacement for 20k (TLM) an updated facade for FL, and a better toontown (new M&G). While I would of preferred one or two C/D rather than the multiple A/B tickets (more than likely) that are included here like Aurora & Cinderella, this plan is still very good.

Can you seriously say to me this plan is better than the redo of Disneyland's fantasyland that is now over 20 years old? I dare you to say that with a straight face.

Conundrum, if you pulled down that bandana from your face, I would not only say it with a straight face, I would say it to your face. This is better! See, we all can talk like juveniles like you on here. Geez, all us 'kids' might as well go to DisneyWorld because that is the only people it is for, right? :)

And in regards to your comment regarding only fanboys going to WDW, check out the list of most visited parks worldwide. Where is MK? For a park that has not had anything 'good' added it in so many years, seems like a lot of people like it or there are more fanboys than general public. :)

Anyway, I love the discussions by everyone and I apologize for my rant. His insults and condescension to others just gets ridiculous. Anywho, Yes, another ride would be great, but maybe we will be surprised when final plans are revealed. No matter what, this is great for MK...not so good for Conundrum

I looked at all the other disney forums and none of them are anywhere near as thrilled as the people here. I guess its just an easy crowd to please over here.

Hai look guys new paint!!!! :sohappy:

Although I have noticed most of the sane ppl here are staying far away from this thread.

No matter what, this is great for MK...not so good for Conundrum

This statement makes no sense

and how is it better than Disneyland's redo which included:

-Every single existing attraction got a track increase to make the rides longer, rides were refreshed with updated scenes and modern special effects

-Brand new rides like Pinnochio's Daring Journey were added

-New themeing and new facades for the whole land

there was probably some other stuff im forgetting.

A satellite view of what seems to be the work area according to the blueprints. It might go back further but I can't tell
This seems interesting, if it goes through though, The Little Mermaid section kind of reminds me of TDS's from the prints.
Do we know what exactly the Belle attraction next to the village is? or the Cinderella one?
I imagine the Aurora one's a show right?

I guess Lee and Martin aren't sane?

Honestly, you're a clown.

Lee and Martin haven't exactly been commenting on this rumored blueprint that I have seen. They made a few posts but it was mostly offtopic stuff. They are both very sane and while im more extreme I think they normally would agree with what I say. I doubt they would ever say this proposed redo is better than the 1983 FL refurb or even as good as DLP's FL or the plans for Harry Potter.

and if you don't like what I have to say the ignore button is right infront of you or you can just not respond to my posts.

I know I'm late to everything. Can't post while I'm at work. (At least I try to resist posting at work. :)) I luckily saved the plans when I saw them not even thinking that they would be deleted off of here. But I have a few comments/thoughts of my own.

1) When I first saw the typed up titles for the attractions/rides/restaurants I was disappointed but seeing these plans laid out like this actually makes a lot more sense.

2) More rides would have been a plus, but it's still under scrutiny what is a ride in this plan and what is a show and what is a M&G... so I'll just have to wait an see if maybe there is something we're over looking.

3) I think the Castle Wall/Courtyard idea is awesome as long as it doesn't restrict the guests flow of traffic from west FL to east FL. I think it's a cool way to separate SW from Pooh and maybe make the Courtyard it's own separate square (diamond?) away from everything else with MP, SW, Village Haus, and carousel inside.

4) BatB mini-land looks nice. Maybe they will put a small Beast castle there, as well as maybe an Atlantica look for Mermaid, making 3 "castles" in FL?

5) If the BatB restaurant is themed out of its mind with maybe an AA show every half hour or something that would be sweet.

6) Did anyone else notice the river/moat system going around the land? It seems to be connected to most of the new areas. Could they do a swan boat system with this or maybe something on a smaller scale?

7) What's all this about not being able to see the track system for TLM? Isn't it on the left side of the "Mermaid" area? Or is that just a queue line?

8) Dumbo sure looks like it takes up a lot of space. Could there be a story walkthrough before you lead up to your flight with Dumbo? Or maybe even a queue line and then a small dark ride until you end up at the actual spinner ride itself?

9) Sorry I made this so long!

I'm looking you in the eyes.

"Yes".

*In 83, the did not double the size of Fantasyland. In fact, they did not increase the size or capacity at all.

*In 83, they did not get a big-budget E-Ticket.

*In 83, they got one new attraction (Pinocchio), and a relatively lackluster one at that, as confirmed by having the shortest lines in FL (I'll take Philharmagic over it any day, which DL still does not have)

*In 83, they tore down the Chicken of the Sea Pirate Ship, which was likely more beloved than TTF.

*In 83, Disneyland did not get a World Showcase (which uses nearly IDENTICAL themed facades--and a big reason why I hoped MK would not get the same 83 European Village)

*In 83, FL was given a single look, rather than the combined (and unique) "Castle Courtyard"/"Enchanted Forest" idea here.

*In 83, the railroad station was not incorporated into the Fantasyland theme (but it did leave room for that oh-so-fitting Videopolis a few years later)

*Since 83, Disneyland's FL has not incorporated a single Disney film made after Sleeping Beauty in 1959 (unless you count the minor additions to Storybook Land or IASW) At 20-years-old, The Little Mermaid is still newer than Sleeping Beauty was in 83. Adding BATB and Pixies will only make MK's FL more up-to-date.

*No one has confirmed yet that the older MK dark rides are NOT getting upgrades. But even if they're not, Pooh is (at least technically) a more advanced dark ride than anything in the current DL FL. MK's Snow White is newer, and about on the same technical caliber. So that leaves Peter Pan, which does need some work. But are you saying that the extra fiber-optic stars, more motion figures, and more brightly-painted sets in Peter Pan makes the entire 83 makeover better than this one????????????
