Awesome page, DCA's update looks nice... but this is a thread for the new FL updates and this section of WDWMagic is WDW News and Rumors. That's something real too. ;)

The only reason I brought it up is because some people here can't stand that im making valid points about the new fantasyland plan and want to say im just "spewing vile" yet im praising what Disney is doing in California and what Universal is doing at their Orlando park. It doesn't jive and i think the majority of people can see through it.

There are things in this plan that are good ideas certainly but there is needs to be more or there needs to be money put into actual attractions that the whole family can enjoy rather than themed meet n greats (which the park already has a number of).

I doubt they would ever say this proposed redo is better than the 1983 FL refurb or even as good as DLP's FL or the plans for Harry Potter.

I guess I don't see it. I had a Universal Annual Pass but let it expire because it got stale, IoA had not added anything until HP, and honestly I don't know what plans you are looking at but I see nothing to get excited about or even warrant a renewal of my pass for. I think it looks very ... blah. Granted, I am not the target audience for it but one ride that looks OK, nothing earth shattering, I think the plans for the Little Mermaid ride sound entirely more intriguing. Which brings me to this new FL plan ...

Of course, its not official yet but at first glance I was overwhelmed and underwhelmed at the same time ... however I think I am going to reserve my judgment for it until we know officially what the "attractions" are going to be.

I personally think they won't invest all this money into it without another semi-big attraction besides TLM. Now that being said I love the layout and I know the themeing will be amazing ... so I have a mild excitement now. I can't wait to hear something official. This is good news.

It has nothing to do with what you say. It's how you say it. Your posts are constantly filled with condescending remarks and insults.

Couldn't disagree with you more. From a purely mechanical/technological standpoint, throwing out my love for the Harry Potter canon, nothing in TLM ride or the new FL will touch TWWoHP. The ride will blow anything that preceded it out of the water technology wise, and the land itself will have spectacular interactive elements, that I would hope Disney would add to this new expansion.

wow,the fact that a lot of people are questioning the legitimacy of the plans goes to show how deep the wounds are for WDW fans. We've never had any makeover of this scale and it all seems too good to be true. Y'all shouldn't fight and just wait and see.

either way, the plans look wonderful, decent guest flow, will finally make our (even though I live in California now, I still call WDW my home park) Fantasyland worth visiting.

Ah, but what he says is so insightful that you should be able to see past his condescension to the incredible genius on display. We're honestly very lucky to have someone as intelligent, thoughtful and grounded posting amongst us. :hurl: Thanks for pointing out the smiley, Exprcoofto! :)

It looks neat, but I have to question the legitimacy of it. I would guess it to be a leaked early version of what's been proposed. It just seems too heavily geared toward little girls or princesses to be valid.

^ You do realize Disney makes billions off the Princess franchise every year right, and that anything new with Disney involves some sort of merch opportunity? (see Carsland)

Thanks to Marni for posting those BatB pictures. Recycled concepts, duplicated attractions, merch opportunities now I can see why Disney wants to build this.

Basically everything else in MK is geared to boys. Adventureland, Tomorrowland, Frontierland all very boyish. Not that girls don't like or appreciate all those places, I'm sure they do. I doubt that these new places will be overtly girly either. Disney knows how to satisfy the public and create some everyone can enjoy.

I don't know guys/gals, I for one am happy that they are at least doing something. Sure we could have hoped for more but at the very least it's a step in the right direction, and hopefully a sign of things to come.

assuming this is real/official, are they going to reuse the tents and stuff from Toon town or just make brand new structures for the meet and greats and forest area?

If that BatB restaurant ends up half as cool as the concept art, I'll finally eat inside the parks. (CRT is okay, if you're there for the Cinderella. But the atmosphere and food for the price, even on the dining plan, leaves much to be desired IMHO).
