The Dark Knight Countdown

All just rumors at this point. We knew who we were going to see after Batman Begins because they set it up. Everyone is still just guessing about the next one.

I still think you could introduce Robin...he just doesn't have to be Robin yet in the 3rd film.

The Dark Knight proves that you need a strong cast. Heath Ledger's Joker stole the show and, IMO, is the single reason this movie is so successful.

That being said, the villain in the next one will have to put on a stellar performance in order to live up to the hype that a THIRD movie will have...after the greatness which is the Dark Knight.

Depp and PSH have it in them. While I think Jolie would make a great Catwoman, I don't think she's a good enough actress to live up to what Heath has done for the genre.

That might be the best way to go about it. Introduce Richard Grayson and keep him as that, not even reveal Wane is Batman to him until a film later. Keep him in the background, maybe start his training, but don't have him in it just yet. I'd also say make him a teenager, too young and it wouldn't be right for this kid to risk his life fighting crime. But as a teen, mid-teens maybe.

Another good thing is that they used him sparingly rather than having the whole movie revolve around him instead of batman like they've done for virtually every other superhero movie.

I don't think the film necessarily has to live up to the hype, but it still could be a great movie and solid entry to the franchise. I think trying overly hard to live up to the hype of a franchise's first 2 movies is the reason why alot of third sequals fail so much.

Depp and PSH have it in them. While I think Jolie would make a great Catwoman, I don't think she's a good enough actress to live up to what Heath has done for the genre.

I actually can't help but wonder what it would've been like if Depp played the Joker... But oh well, Heath was great as it was.

I think Angelina Jolie is simply too pop culture to play catwoman.

I'd personally chose Marley Shelton who played Doc Block's cheating wife in Planet Terror in Grindhouse. She's kinda nerdy looking, but can be extremely sexy at the same time.

At least its not like Batman Forever when Bruce adopted him when he was 20-somthing. Now that's just strange.

We are probably looking at it being in the #4 or #3 spot after the weekend.
Let's say $5 million today and Thursday and a $25 million weekend.

This just keeps getting better and better.

DMC-12

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
I havent seen it yet... A) I've been way too busy, and B) was waiting for the hype to die down a bit. However I am going to go see it on an IMAX screen tomorrow. :sohappy::sohappy:

Well, Pineapple Express was bound to win the day, but finishing behind Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants stings a bit. Guess we'll see if we can at least get back to No. 2 for the weekend.

Wednesday box office
1. Pineapple Express $12,085,679
2. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 $5,730,334
3. The Dark Knight $5,077,367

I agree, that would be the best way to go about bringing in Dick Grayson. I wouldn't mind, especially if you got an actor who was around 15 or 16 to play him.

And maybe cast an unknown, or someone not too huge in the spotlight just yet. But I swear, if it's that Zack Effron (or however you spell his name) from High School Musical I will not see it.

Well, Pineapple and Pants both fell off pretty steeply Thursday. We might have a shot at winning another weekend, depending on how PE continues to perform. Midweek opening might have hurt it a bit?

1. Pineapple Express $5,988,032
2. The Dark Knight $4,734,366
3. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 $3,211,364

What if instead of Dick Grayson, they cast him as Jason Todd so that he gets blowed up? Would you watch it then?

WEEKEND ESTIMATES
1. The Dark Knight $26,030,000
2. Pineapple Express $22,400,000

:sohappy: That's 4 weekends in a row. If the estimate holds up, TDK is in the #3 slot all-time as well...about $300K ahead of Shrek 2 and $19 million behind Star Wars.

:sohappy: woo! Does anyone recall the last time a movie held the top spot four weeks in a row/what that movie was?
