The Dark Knight Countdown

On yahoo I read an article that said LOTR:ROTK was the last movie to stay on top for 4 straight weeks. That was back in 2003/2004.

Edit: Look in the 3rd paragraph. Here is the link: http://movies.yahoo.com/mv/news/ap/20080810/121841442000.html
I was about to post this. I got curious enough to dig through the weekend results individually for the last few years, and LOTR 3 was the last one. Passion of the Christ also spent four total weeks at #1 in 2004, but they weren't consecutive.

Well, hopefully the two of you weren't in your senior years at the time, like me. Then I'd be worried about ya. :p

(Unless you're doing postgrad work, of course...which now that I think of it, I remember SeaBreeze saying she's studying for a doctorate. Soooo this post is pointless.)

You are correct. I was a Sophomore in '03/'04. Currently I am working on my Masters in Business Ed. So, it isn't as bad as it sounds. :animwink:

More power to you! I gave grad school a try a couple years ago, and just couldn't hack it. I think I had been out too long since getting my BS, so if you're going to do it, it's probably best to hit it all at once.

So...about that Batman movie... :lookaroun

TDK will be over $500 million after Labor day. There are now rumors coming from WB that they may push back the DVD release till after the Oscars, meaning more box office take than if the DVD is released for Christmas. If that is the case, $600 million easy.

 You do get bonus points for remembering that though!

And to what Timmay said, I really hope the DVD still comes out in time for Christmas. Wishful thinking perhaps but what a lovely Christmas tradition that could be: watching TDK on Christmas day :)

Video ETA is still saying a December 2008 release. If you keep your fingers crossed I will too!

Ah yes, what a wonderful Christmas tradition: sit the whole family down 'round the fire and watch a guy get a pencil shoved into his eye socket!

If pushing back the DVD means more time to run up the BO take, that's what I'm rooting for, personally. I wanna see this thing make a run at #1. :D

No need to hide  For some reason, I doubt it'll be in theaters that long but I'm certainly not rooting against it's continued box office success
