I blame the delay entirely on Monty and KITTENS!

You can probably take me off the list also. I'll either be in Colorado skiing or back home in Louisiana.

Oh no, really? Well that really stinks, you were so excited :( But you're CP aren't you? So no way you'll be back for Feb. then? I'm afraid this change in date is going to put quite a dent in our sign up list. It'll probably end up being locals for the most part in the end I guess.

Yeah, it does stink. My program ends January 4th. I'm going to remain seasonal, but February would be way too soon to come back, not to mention school and the skiing trip. The soonest I'll be back is for the opening of Toy Story Mania.

Damn kittens and Canadians:lookaroun (Saw O'Canada tonight...lotta good that did)

Maybe we need to make this a fundraiser for the Humane Society. :animwink:

Also, I think eating at the Biergartgen is a good idea but it is soo stinky in there! I know I ate there a l-o-n-g time ago. The entertainment is very funny, tho, and it would accomodate a lot of people.

Kinda like us with Spaceship Earth :lookaroun

The Land Pavillion employs new beneficial pest management program.
Disney Scientists have developed a new way of dealing with unwanted pests. Instead of using traditional methods, Disney has unleashed Wilson the giant kitten into the Epcot park to help deal with annoying insects, pin traders, and unwanted guests.

"So Far Wilson, has only caused a minor disturbance when he tried to ride The Maelstrom with a bunch of Japanese school girls. The incredible cry of "kawaii-des" caused him to try and jump in the boat. The resultant flood only caused the Norway "ikea" theater to be flooded and need refurbishment, but no real loss there." says Jim McPhee, Senior Vice President of Epcot.

Free range kitten maintenance has been considered for the other Disney parks soon. Although all merchandise shops will stop selling any hats that have large fuzzy balls on them......

Ok here's the latest on the dining situation.

Obviously we have lunch penciled into the schedule as it is now, but as promised I looked into dinner options today.

I spoke with a *few* different departments at Disney and gathered the following info:

As far as anything "special" there are several choices for large groups that look wonderful, but also look extremely expensive. One of the options is the dessert party that we had at Celebration 25, and this looks to be the least expensive thing to do. If you all recall, it was still quite pricey though, in relation to what we're doing here. There was a $500 booking fee and the need to send in payments ahead of time and divide the fees among the attendees. The final amount was $46 per person for Celebration 25, and that was based on a guess of 50 people attending.

My opinion is that this is not right for our group as we will be much smaller and I think this is just too much expense for a day trip. Especially since it's just dessert.

Our other option is a group dining reservation at the Biergarten. The cast member I spoke with stated that this was the best location for a large group, and would ultimately give anyone attending a full buffet meal for $26.99. A better deal in my opinion.

For a group of 22 - 60 people Group Dining guidelines state that you must book during the first 30 minutes or the last 30 minutes of the dining period. That amounts to a reservation between 4:00pm and 4:30pm or between 8:20pm and 8:50pm (which would be bad because you'd then miss Illuminations).

Assuming then that no one would want to dine at the later time and miss Illuminations that would boil it down to a party over 22 people, but under 60 would have to dine in the 4:00 area. This would require a change to our schedule too.

If the number of people who want to dine is under 22 the time can be adjusted with no guarantee we would be seated together. If the number goes over 60 arrangements will need to be made directly with the restaurant and at this time I don't know what the times would be. I don't really think we're going to go over 60 people though.

So comments would be appreciated as to interest in the dinner. Obviously the farther ahead it's booked the better the chance of availability. This would also require people to commit to the dinner and for us to commit to 2/19 in order to make the reservation. If I had a ballpark figure I could guess high and book something. It would be much easier to eliminate people from the party size than it would be to guess low and try to add.

What does everyone think?

Great work! :animwink: I completely agree that we most likely won't go over 60 people and I think we will for sure have 22, so if others agree, booking the Biergarten is a great idea.

We can make it that the first 60 people that RSVP are in our party and anyone else can show up and hope they get to sit with the group.

How should we do this? Not everyone has responded about the Feb change of plans. Should we PM everyone?

Hey, I thought you were at MGM today

As far as the dinner...

I called again just now and re-checked availability (because sometimes you get different answers depending on who you get on the phone) and this CM stated that he wanted me to call Biergarten directly and gave me the number. He felt that it would be the best idea. He said that availability was there right now, but you never know how long that will last. I think we have a few days to at least get a preliminary number to get started.

So anyone interested in dining at the Biergarten on 2/19 around 4pm please RSVP either in this thread, or by PM to Shannon (EPCOT.nut) or myself by this Friday Nov. 2nd so I can call to place the hold before it's too late. I can always subtract people later, but not add, so if you think it's a maybe for you, go ahead and say yes for now and please include your party size.

Oh and yeah, we may want to PM people on our list so far who don't check in here often.

Here's a new list just for the Biergarten:

Biergarten dinner:

1. SweetMagic04 - 4 people
