a.k.a. The Adventures of Pascal TR

Intro:
Welcome everyone to my very first trip report! Ahh!!! All week, I’ve been trying to be good and wait to start on my TR until I got my lesson plans for school done (they’re all due tonight), but… since I’m currently at work and am at a place where I can’t do any work on my lessons until I’m out of the office, I figured that posting the beginnings would be a good idea! :lol: As you may have read in my Pre Trip Report, this trip has definitely been a long time coming… a 4 year wait for me in fact! I was told that if I didn’t write my trip report for this trip, I would be “disowned, unfollowed, and shunned”… thanks for that one Kenzie!

In the midst of the trip, we got to celebrate both of our birthdays and Valentine’s Day, so it was a magical experience indeed.

So without further ado:

The cast:

There’s me, Courtney, who turns 23 tomorrow (AHHHH!) and this was my 19th trip to the World… and then there’s my wonderful BF, Dan, who turned 23 the day before our trip (Feb 12) and who is lucky enough (or not) to spend his first WDW visit with me!

There was a third member of our cast as well… a mischief stowaway by the name of Pascal!

The dates: February 13 through February 17, 2012

Guess who’s backkkkkkkk

Yeah, it’s me! And by this point of the trip, the camera is charged again (and this point in reality, aka Thursday at 10:20pm, I am watching Up! Talk about crying my eyes out right now). So, we are partway through our Valentine’s Day at Disney, and I have decided to switch the way my dress is on me… actually, I had changed out of it for a little while since we were just in the room then. I wanted to put my dress the way it was in the morning, but we couldn’t figure it out! So it ended up being this way instead, and we went back to the bus for MK once again because it was time to head over to dinner at 1900 Park Fare!

The monorail ride was quite uneventful, so soon we found ourselves at

And we checked in, got our pager (which went off in Dan’s hand when they handed it to us?), and did the whole picture thing in front of the backdrop… we didn’t buy the picture, it looked completely terrible

So, since we had a long wait ahead (longer than we realized actually), I decided to take pictures because GF is like my 4 year old dream resort. It’s my dream to get married in Disney and to stay at the GF on my wedding night (I informed Dan of this… his response was “Ok…” which is a normal response for him lol). So I just needed to get some pictures!

This TR is SOO CUUTE! You guys are an adorable couple and it looks like you both are having an awesome time so far! I love how your getting Dan to love Disney (good work)! :animwink: That's awesome that you guys got to spend Valentine's Day at the Happiest Place on Earth!
I didn't know that they sold Tonga Toast at the QS in the Polynesian and not just at Kona so I'll definitely be going there on my next trip!

And then Dan stole the camera (because we were getting bored and had been waiting for about a half hour by now).

The lady at the counter told us it should be about 10 minutes from this point, so I decided to pop in the bathroom so I could see what it looked like.

Oh hey, there’s me!

A little while longer passed, Dan and I danced to some Frank Sinatra that was playing, and we were still waiting… so I decided to then head outside to take some more pictures.

After I came back in the hallway, we realized we had been waiting for over an hour and people that came in after us had already been seated… and my blood sugar was starting to mess with me and make me cranky Courtney. So, I ran up to the counter and umm “nicely” asked what was going on (ok, it was more of a “Here’s the deal. We’ve been here for well over an hour, our reservations were for 5:50, it’s 7. I want to watch Wishes, and my blood sugar is so low that I’m about to bite someone’s head off… what’s going on?”)… and our reservation wasn’t in the system anymore! Apparently, our slip printed out an hour earlier and no one realized it because our pager wasn’t working? OH WELL. We got food and drink, so I was much better and Happy Courtney once again.

Ughh that shrimp was DISGUSTING. And I love my shrimp, but I took a bite and spit it out. Gross.. This, however, was amazing. And I don’t remember what it was at all, but it was good.

Dan stole my camera once again (see?)

Which was a good thing, because we were about to get a character invasion!!!

The prince was such a great character, we had so much fun chatting with him! He told us that his friend Prince Eric (hehe) tried to come do the dinner one night with Cindy’s step sisters, and Eric was pulling his hair out by the end of the night and said he would take all of Ariel’s sisters any day! It was hilarious.

Ugh, I hate my arms in these pictures… oh well!

I loved Cinderella too, she was so nice to us. Definitely a great start to Dan’s first character meal!! Of course, these three were awesome at their job, but they weren’t the people we came to 1900 to see.

Now for the reason that we had some of the best seats in the restaurant that night…. “Mother! Mother! Look what she did!”

“Well, dear, get down there and fix it!”

:ROFLOL: Anastasia had pulled Drizella’s bloomers down in front of the whole restaurant, and then had to go back and FIX it. We were dying with laughter.

Unfortunately, we never got to meet Drizella while we were there because we had something more important to do… the original plan of the night was to walk over to Poly to watch Wishes from the beach (and to, you know, walk by the wedding pavilion so Dan could see it up close……:lookaroun..), but due to our really long wait, we weren’t able to do so

Instead, we ran down to the pier at GF to catch what we could of Wishes from there (they were watching Lady and the Tramp at the pool… I need to buy that movie before I forget to again).

And, we could see a couple getting their wedding pictures done while we were there! (just for you Jess!)

So, we headed back to the hotel since none of the parks were open late tonight (I know, boring right?), but I got a couple of pictures of the bowling pins!

And, looking back over the TR, I realized I did something really stupid today… I forgot to mention our magical moment we had on Main Street at the end of MK (right after the tiara)!!

We walked into the bakery because Dan wanted a snack, and I wanted to see
the cupcakes up close… so we were talking to the ladies working there, telling them about our Valentine’s Day, our birthdays, and everything else they asked us about. Dan ended up getting one of the Mickey rice crispy treats (with the Reese’s on it), and we were heading towards the exit when we hear a “Danny” behind us. We turned around, and one of the ladies had two Valentine’s cupcakes wrapped for us to take for free. it was so sweet of her! And these are our cupcakes:

(Dan had the chocolate… it got a bit messed up from the container). I never did eat my cupcake… oh well, Dan said his was really good though!

Pretty sure this was the night that Dan fell right to sleep, and I couldn't so I went outside for a walk around the 50s section (without the camera of course).... Jess, do you remember which night it was???

And, that’s the end of our Valentine’s Day in WDW (so sad, that was one of my favorite days too)… next up, our adventures of drinking around EPCOT and a game of tag.

We never did play Sorcerers though, and it was open the whole time. I actually thought about you guys when I saw it open!

What a perfect Valentine's Day! I loved the pic of Dan & Lady Tremaine! Too funny. There's nothing better than a guy who gets into all of the magic as much as you do. So sweet that he bought you a tiara!! I'm looking forward to reading about the rest of the trip! (Wow, could I possibly use any more exclamation marks?!?!) :lol:

I was sooo angry, though I did get to wander for a little and stare at my dream hotel, which was nice.

I'll try to get the next update up over the weekend for youuuu.

You used exclaimation marks?!?!?!?!?!? WHERE?!?!??!?!?! :ROFLOL: I know, I'm silly! But, I still love that tiara... I wore it to my classroom on my birthday last week (and couldn't write about it then cuz I hadn't gotten to the tiara part here! ha!), and the kids made me curtsy for them, and told me I looked like Rapunzel since I had a braid in my hair. That class is freaking adorable.

Just wait, Dan gets more into it... parts are sweet, parts are hilarious. Especially with Pascal.

Your trip w/Dan reminds me of my first trip with my fiance (then boyfriend). He had only been once w/his school back in high school. He was all like (about his last trip) "It was OK - it wasn't amazing" and then while we're there he was taking pics of everything - sending them to his family and bragged about everything when we got home. And now we've been back every year since and he proposed on the last trip. Our next trip is scheduled for mid Sept. (Sorry I won't be joining the ToT run! But he starts rotations again on the 26th-27th) So long story short - eventually men get bit by this Disney bug even if they don't want to admit it at first...ITS DISNEY. It has that magical effect on couples

I liked the pasta and the salad. But besides that dinner was just eh for us... I think the wait had something to do with it though, we were more worried about getting to see Wishes by that point. The characters were amazing however!

I think the lady at the podium thought I was going to strangle her, and I almost burst into tears when she said we have no reservation in the system... which my response was holding the pager up and going "Obviously we DO since we check in over an HOUR ago. And we're only two flippin people, how hard is it to find us a seat?" Not my proudest moment... but we got food.

I'm kinda mad at myself that I never ate my cupcake... I wasn't feeling good that night, so I didn't eat it. But it looked delicious.

The characters there sound so funny! That must have been horrible waiting that long though, risking missing Wishes is definitely no fun. And theres nothing wrong with a little hint :lol:
