Rumor: Disney World Indiana Jones Show Closing To Make Room For Star Wars

My most trustable source says nothing has been approved as of right now.

And I have a bunch of new people passing on contradictory information. And Tikiman passing on his stuff.

So I havent a goddamm clue who to believe. Star Wars will eventually happen... so those people will eventually be right. And right now, nothing is happening. So my other people are right.

Until i get people willing to go on the record, I'm gonna stick with what I can prove right now.

I agree, stick with what you can prove right now.

It's definitely clear Star Wars Land WILL happen in the future. Just a matter of what year they actually decide to start anything.

I'd rather know that walls are going up at that travesty they call a hat because to me, it's clear Star Wars is the priority and for all intents and purposes, WILL happen (at some point).

I don't think Bob Iger would be willing to commit to a timeline right now! :D

They're still reeling from the disaster that is My Magic +.

Meanwhile, Uni is moving forward on THREE substantial plans: Potter 2, Kong, and a big surprise.

I have too many people telling me too many different things.

And I'm not happy about it.

So until someone is willing to go on the record and be quoted, I'm saying "I'll believe it when I see it."

Well that's very interesting.

I believe that something is up. I believe that something is going on.

My gut says that Indy will stay through the end of the year but others say it's not long for this world.

There's smoke here… but not enough concrete information for me to feel comfortable saying "yes this is going to happen"… You see what I'm getting at?

My people are telling me one thing. You're saying something else. Tikiman is saying something else.

At this point, who the **** knows.
This has been going on for almost two years. I'm in the I will believe it when I see it camp.

Can anyone confirm whether Cars Land is, indeed, "dead" for DHS?

I understand cloning is not always popular on this site, but given its great success it just seems like a no-brainer (see Universal and the WWoHP in Hollywood and Japan). Cars Land and Star Wars Land would be great additions to DHS which sadly needs all the help it can get. I’d also like to see them keep Indy around - perhaps in the form of an updated version of DL's Indiana Jones Adventure in MK’s Adventureland. We all know that MK is long overdue for a new e-ticket, capacity expansion and something that caters to guests over age 8.

Just so long as the back lot cafe between indy and star wars gets moved... Yeah it's nothing special but it's always our lunch stop lol

According to another thread, the Indy contracts were renewed around this time last year, so, not that it means anything though. Were they renewed again?

And to be fair, Disney can tell that to cast all they want but we all know they could decide tomorrow to end the show. LOL. So, I take anything with DHS now with a huge grain of salt.

And I think we all know Disney wouldn't come right out and advertise, HEY WE ARE CLOSING ATTRACTIONS!

Ever since Pleasure Island closed and it sat idle for nearly 6 years, with one false start, you can see the pattern of modern day Disney World. Those hoping for star wars _completed_ anytime soon (pre Avatar) shouldn't hold their breath.

The amount of plans Disney is just sitting on would make anyone cry. What Dave said is the same thing I've "heard" also. I know it's frustrating for some Disney fans to get that, but that's how they are nowadays.

I spoke with someone at dinner last night regarding the DHS changes... things are in the mix and they are trying to nail down a budget and projects for the area's in question before the beginning of the fiscal year.. I have no idea at this point what they are working towards... Cars? Star Wars? Something else? but I can tell you with 100% certainty that Disney is taking notice of the "Potter Pull"..

From what I have been told, they are toying with the idea of not announcing ANYTHING until it's 60-70 built.. At which point they will announce what it is closer to when it opens.. (similar to the approach uni has been taking lately).. months or year-long buzz seems to work better than 5 years of low-level humming that was the new fantasyland and cars land projects.

In addition, I've been told that Disney is looking at was to accelerate construction when wanted.. The higher-ups (including Iger) are leaning on the bean counters because of the contruction time-table on the larger projects lately.. NFE took longer to build than all of Phase 1 of WDW.
