New interactive game at MK? - Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom

Has this been an ongoing thing or is construction just getting underway?

My question is, have they been prepping for this for some time and inserting these "game" elements under normal refurb schedules?

Someone correct me if I wrong... but when they introduced KP to Epcot I don't remember hearing or seeing much about it until it was almost ready to debut! Maybe our insiders knew what was going on... but myself, as just a fanboy/girl reading forum posts never really knew anything about it until it was almost being advertised!

I wonder how close this is to being ready ready...!?!

I'm excited for it! It's not an "E ticket" but it's entertaining. We love KP and it's taken me to places in WS that I might otherwise have never seen or noticed before.

I plan on bringing my daughter for her first visit soon - I hope this will be up and running by then.

Wonder if Disney will sell wands to enhance the experience. :lookaroun

I'm excited and think that it will be a nice addition. Based on the way things are looking, the details for the game will be meshed in nicely with the park. If you don't want to play, then your experience in the park won't be negatively affected. I think that Kim Possible works pretty well, and am looking forward to seeing this on an even larger scale.

It was talked about for a while. I was doing the permit thread at the time KP was being set up and the permits form Verizon spanned a few months but since it was not a big E-ticket, KP was largely lost in the din of monorail expansion and reusable mug threads.

This looks exactly like the detective game on the Disney Cruise Line. Definitely geared towards little ones, which the art clearly shows.
I hope its not too kiddy. I really enjoy the kim possible game at epcot and would love another one similar in all the parks some day.

I'm really surprised this wasn't announced at the D23 Expo, I don't know that it would have made any difference in terms of the public take aways from the presentation but it seems to be as substantial as the Fantasy Faire addition in Disneyland.

That would have required someone from Walt Disney World's parks and resorts division actually attending the expo?

or maybe they just weren't ready?

It's been in development for a long while now. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't announce it at the D23 expo to show it's not a place for major announcements.

Do we have confirmation yet that this will be replacing the Frontierland Shootin' Arcade? I remember a while back we had a thread about it, but no one was sure even Raven had no clue. All we knew then was that the area was completley gutted.

The Shootin' Arcade was gutted? I missed that one

Anyway, the whole thing sound's kind of cool, but let's wait and see. I like the KP thing at EPCOT, but it was not really anything special. This sounds to be a bit different, and if done well, I'm sure kids, and grown ups alike will enjoy it :sohappy:
