New interactive game at MK? - Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom

Hmmm....really?

The Sorcering World of The Magic Potter Kingdom.

That design and name really seems like a cheap attempt to further confuse the Potter issue.

Look at the major additions to the Magic Kingdom during it's first 3 Decades.

1973 - Pirates - E-Ticket
1975 - Space Mountain - E-Ticket
1975 - People Mover - D-Ticket
1975 - Star Jets - D-Ticket
1982 - Big Thunder Mountain - E-Ticket (same year as opening Epcot Center and Monorail Expansion)
1993 - Splash Mountain - E-Ticket
1994 - loss of 20,000 Leagues - E-Ticket

Disney set the prescience and kept raising the bar. This to me is one of the main reasons for disappointment with the stagnation of the Magic Kingdom.
Disney sort of conditioned us to keep expecting new mind blowing attractions. :D

You also have to keep in mind that of course there would be major E-ticket attractions constantly added...when it first opened. The Park needed to be developed. That is why as time goes on, less attractions are made. Also, Magic Kingdom's space isn't limitless. If there are going to be expansions, I wan't them to be the best of the best. And I want the movies that are represented to be balanced between old and new. And since Disney Animation has only gotten it's grove back with the last handful of films. So give it time. Personally, I hope they save space somewhere for a King of the Elves attraction.

I don't see it. Sorcerer makes me think of The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Also, if I'm not mistaken, the word "sorcerer" only shows up on the first Harry Potter book/film to any great extent.

The actual Sorcerers are Disney characters and will use their special powers (Rupunzel hair whip, Hercules strength, Snow White singing, etc.) Most of the play field will be in Frontierland, Andventureland, Fantasyland and Main Street.

Maybe it will seem like less of an attempt to pull some Pottermania into WDW when more details emerge.

Right now it looks pretty pathetic in my opinion, as none of those characters are are even remotely close to being "sorcerers".

I give it all of two days before the guests start asking about the new Potter game at Disney.

It is going to be neat. Plus it was on the works before Potterland. And if guests can't get the name right, it's their own fault. Disney can't spoon feed all the idiots.

As Lee has stated, this has been in development for a couple of years now, with the name itself being trademarked by Disney back in 2010......

I see, thanks for clearing that up.

It's not the concept I have a problem with it's that name.

Wizarding World, Sorcerer Kingdom....maybe Busch Gardens will have a Warlock Planet next?

It's not called "Sorcerer's Kingdom"...

It's called "The Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom". Expect to also see "The Sorcerers of Animal Kingdom, Epoct and Hollywood Studios" in the near future as well (names may vary).

Plus, it's only in America that "sorcerer" is attached to Harry Potter anyway. And Disney has more stock in that term than Harry Potter. Disney has used it for decades. See Fantasia.

Wizarding World, Sorcerer Kingdom....Magic Kingdom. Perhaps Busch will have a Mouse Planet next. But somehow I think both sides will be just fine in the end.....

I really like the idea, sounds rather fun, but I wonder, won't this just further congest the already crowded walkways around the MK?
