New Contemporary tower art

I think the design works very well in this case. It works so well I think this will sale at a faster rate than any of the DVC offerings before this.

I also think it will sell at a faster rate then any of the other DVC properties did, but surely not because of the design.

I'm pretty sure if Disney did it, they would have done a better job. Even the one posted on this thread where the shading was added looked a lot more natural.

Well, the Monsters Inc comedy club concept art had to be the crappiest and most poory done ( I guess the same could go for the actual ride :lookaroun ) piece of work ever, and it was real. So who knows...

looks like their maybe a type of "peoplemover" or moving walk way connecting you from the tower to the main tower.

Hopefully this will be DVC. I really want this to be DVC!

COME ON DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!! LISTEN TO WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just so you know, we just got back from WDW, bought more points in DVC, and for anybody interested they have a great deal going on for current members. I had asked our rep about the new DVC at the contemporary, the concept art is basically the same as he drew it but he said that the walkway to the monorail between the resorts will take you to the stop for the monorail, or the resort itself. But understand this is a rumor, but from what I saw of the picture it looks like that will be the same as our rep said.

I THINK THAT FROM A DISTANCE THAT THE BUILDING WILL NOT STICK OUT AND THAT COMING THE WAY MOST PEOPLE COME. AS FOR IN THE PARK IT MIGHT NOT STICK OUT THAT MUCH BECAUSE IT BEING PICTURE ON THE LOT CLOSER TO THE WATER AND AGAIN IT MIGHT LOOK THE SAME HIGHT AS THE ORIGINAL.
BUT YOU CAN SAY THAT YOU ARE STAY AT THE A C HA HA HA ....:p

Eh. I like it I guess. To be blunt, it makes the Contemporary Resort look like crap. I'm not sure how much I like that though... I guess I'm kind of in the middle, which means reserving my judgement until I see it.

can disney stop building hotels already?! what do they got now like 150 hotels for 4 parks? lol, enough already put all this hotel money into stuff that will really make disney better, more parks, atleast one more, 5 feels so much more complete than 4, an extended monorail system that would connect atleast all four parks, and ofcourse MORE RIDES! disney doesnt need more hotels, they should stop being so concerned about having guests stay on property to get more money out of us, its bad enough already that i have to take out a second mortgage for a hamburger and fries there

They arn`t. Disney Vacation Club are.

Believe me, `Disney` have plenty of never built and never finished hotel plans on the shelf.

If this is true, I wonder if it means the walkway will split inside the existing concourse? On way going down to the 4th floor level, the other proceeding across a catwalk to the station platform? Is the Grand Canyon clear of construction walls totally now?

That image is not for use in some new blockbuster movie. It is called a mockup, a preview, views from different perspectives so that execs can "get the idea" of how it will look. Architectural firms never attempt to create hyper-reality when creating these concept views.

The new tower does not really dwarf the Contemporary A-Frame. The new tower is really only 2 floors taller. And the footprint of the building is not much longer than the A-Frame,it's just about the same length across if your are looking at the front of the buildings from the lake, but the new building is deeper.

I'm pretty sure Disney photoshopped it. How else could you do it? Photoshop is really the most efficient way to do it.

But it looks like someone just made it with their photoshopped at home, rather than Disney professionally editing the picture.

If it truly is a mock-up, I find it weird that they did not just do artist concept work like what was made for the DVC resorts at the new Animal Kingdom Lodge, rather than this picture.

But who knows, maybe this is for real.

I don't mind the C-shape of the building, and I'm sure Disney will make sure the color scheme matches the awesome A-frame. However, I think the new building should be noticeably smaller than the new one and that the tower should be rotated 180 degrees so passing guests can perceive the architectural style better.

So many critics....

The plans are drawn...the building will be built...it will not be changed because a few Disney fans don't approve.

With the C-shaped Building next to the A frame, the next logical step would be a giant "B" shaped building on the other side. Perhaps the entire alphabet around seven seas lagoon is in the long term plan...

I work for an Architectural/Engineering firm and this is a typical thing to do. There are likely hand sketched renderings that just have not leaked out (yet) but we usually add our computer rendered buildings into an actual photo. But if somebody did"fake" this one, they would have had to have access to the building's rendering from the side shown, which I have not seen anywhere else.

Disney is usually very strict with who gets to see renderings of future work, or work in progress. My former firm did the engineering for the Shades of Green expansion. We were limited to who had access to the drawing files, so you can imagine the restrictions to be placed on a "real" Disney project.

Anyway, my 2 cents. (why is there no cents sign on the keyboard??? )
And again, if this is actually built, I have confidence that it will be a classy place.
