The question is where would they put it. Or would they just convert part of one of the hotels already there.

Convert one of the hotels there, sort of. There's land being prepped for some type of work or addition at or near the Grand Californian Resort. Lots of speculation at a rival DIScussion board about converting some space at the GC and then adding additional buildings for DVC as well.

Its very logical that if they can get around the land lock issue, that a DVC at DL would make sense. If they can get past their city council issues and concerns over development, Disney is supposedly looking to acquire more land (that Anaheim wants to turn into a variety of housing options including low income) for a possible 3rd gate or other expansion.

I'd agree, look for someting at the Grand Californian whether it be remodel or addition. Possible announcement yet in 2007 (all rumor of course).

Is that confirmed?

Not officailly, but neither is the Contemp DVC The plot in question is used for private functions sometimes - wedding photos and marquees for example - and these are being advised it may not be available in the future. Marker posts have also been seen on the plot.
