When I taught kindergarten, the librarian came into each teacher's room to make sure we didn't have anything Disney, that we made ourselves. I had a couple of the characters that I had used an overhead projector to enlarge. I had painted and cut them out and had them on one of my centers. She made me take them down. They had gotten notice that all Disney icons/characters were copyright protected and should be removed from any rooms in the system. I had put tons of work into those and didn't think since I wasn't selling them or anything, that it was okay. Wrong.
See, that's just STUPID. You weren't making any money off that. If anything, it's free advertising FOR Disney. So stupid. Everyone's afraid of the mouse. I've never found a local shop who would print anything even remotely Disney-ish. I've even offered to pay these people to let me use their equipment and I would do the work. Nope. My BIL had a commercial-grade heat press years and years ago but I don't know if he has it anymore.

The problem here isn't necessarily with Disney, it's with the way the system works. If you don't defend your copyrighted property aggressively, it weakens the protection you have. That is why they are forced to be so non-discriminate and not use any form of common sense in their actions.

Aw, Kelly, that's too bad. I know you put a lot of work into doing all this for us. I was able to get some stuff on that first day, but I was waiting to order my T-shirt until closer. Guess I'm going to have to print your design off on iron-on paper and make my own.

Doesn't matter. We'll accomplish what we set out to if it kills me. I'm entirely too hard-headed for my own good.

Being a pirate is very Disney...so go for it! I can just see someone in a dark alley pulling Mickey Ear T-shirts out of his trunk and making the deal.
But that's the thing. I don't want to make a nickel off Disney. I just want everyone in our group to have a tshirt with our little logo. For fun. While we travel with Disney giving them money.

Local shops are the best for this stuff. We had some shirts done for our trip back in November and they have Mickey heads on them. I might have to rethink my design for my fish extender if they are that crazy about Mickey heads.

****** DREAM GIRLS TSHIRTS ******

Here's the deal! Tammy & I *think* we've got another spot set up for us to order shirts & souvenirs. The only problem is they aren't 2-sided and personalized like the ones from Zazzle. It's just the logo on the front. Those who already ordered from Zazzle and received their stuff have options if they don't want to stick with the personalized shirts since they won't necessarily match perfectly with everyone else. If you ordered in the last 30 days you can return the shirts for a full refund. If you want to still keep the personalized shirts, that's cool too. Whatever you want to do.

We're going to wait another few days to send out the email with the new link to everyone. Tammy & I ran a little test of sorts by placing some orders ourselves. We've both received shipment notification so that's good. We just don't want a flood of orders to go in and have the new spot shut us down, too.

Anywhoo, stay tuned for further info. I'll post again here to give everyone the heads-up to look for the email. Again, I cannot apologize enough for the cluster with Zazzle.

To add insult to injury, I was balancing my bank accounts today and noticed the Paypal payment to Zazzle went thru. I went to Zazzle and it seems my order actually shipped. Yeah. o_O So let's all visualize together the big, black marker printed across that package: "REFUSED". I wonder if it'll be big enough that I can also add "Stick it where the sun don't shine!" LOL!
