Ok so for us who have never been on a cruise before, in your quotes you posted last night, you said the cost to get to port is something you cannot avoid. How much is it? It said we would know. Not that its important but I would like to know?

a lot of the hotels down there give you free shuttle to the port, round trip. we just tipped the driver.

so i think that part depends on the hotel.

Yep, Louella is right, there are several options.

If you are driving, and arrive the day of the cruise, you can pay to park at the port. If you arrive the night before, you can stay in a hotel in Port Canaveral the night before. Many of them have free parking for the cruise. You can take their (free) shuttle to the port the next day.

If you are flying you can pay for Disney shuttles to take you from the airport to the terminal the day of the cruise, or a Disney resort to the terminal. If you fly in the day before you could stay at the airport or a Disney resort.

You can also rent a car, get a limo, or town car to get you to the terminal. Or hitch a ride with someone that drove!:)

I think most of us plan to at least get there the day before. I always recommend that, it gives you some wiggle room if something goes wrong. We'll probably split rooms at WDW, maybe the airport, and probably some in Port Canaveral.

As everyone's plans start to firm up we can examine all our options.

Of course we wouldn't!:)

I have no idea at this point! I don't even know where we will be living then!

I will definitely go at least one day before. That's all I can plan on for now!

DCL transfers from MCO to the port are about $35 per person each way, you can also get DCL transfers from WDW resorts and it is about the same price.

Of course we wouldn't!:)

I can't imagine moving often, we moved over a year ago and stuff is still packed, but I bet you are good at it, and you do not keep everything like my family does.

I CAN GO! I CAN GO! Whoo Hoo the Fiance was totally cool about it!!!

Tammy before I set the final answer I wanna make sure my mom, and my Aunt's don't wanna go first. If not then I WILL need a roomie!!My Aunt has been to WDW world over 45 times, and has been on many many cruises, but NEVER a Disney Cruise! However, my mom has NEVER been on a cruise, and we are taking her on her first Jan 1, 2012, so I won't know if she wants to ever go on a boat again until after! She is scared to death of boats & water, so wish us luck!
