Hollywood Studios entertainment overhaul

Whoa! Whoa! Don't talk about Nicolas Cage that way. He's the GREATEST screen actor in the past three generations. His portrayal of Ben Gates was brilliant! The fact that he didn't receive an Oscar for that role is mind-boggling. It shows the corruption of Hollywood.

I'm just kidding about replacing those attractions by the way....OR AM I!?!

ok.....hold on Jabroni. I loved the National Treasures movies but to make the statement that Nicholas Cage is the greatest screen actor in the past three generations is outright the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I have two words for you...Tom Hanks....period!

But apparently there's a P&F movie coming out in 2013 (in theatres)... so, if the movie is good and the franchise remains popular, will it then having staying power beyond 5 years!?!

I'm happy to hear this. If this show is done right it could be a great attraction regardless of what happens to the franchise/show in future years.

I think of Phineas & Ferb as potentially being similar to Spongbob Squarepants in terms of cultural impact and staying power. Now, it's nowhere near that yet, but if P&F could follow that path it could be a decent option for a while. The show is definitely one that is both fun for children and adults (some of the humor is too subtle for the younger set and is aimed for adults watching with their kids).

That said, this and the Epcot interactive game plus a M&G is a lot for the show. Doesn't seem popular enough at this point to warrant it. I wouldn't be surprised if it's simply a filler for a few years. I'm not expecting too much being spent on effects.

Additionally, any plans for the old Hunchback Theater that they enclosed? Or is it essentially going to be like WoL in EPCOT and be show space?

It's a good question. If LMA and Backlot are closed to build Carsland, re-opening the Premiere Therate for some show would at least help with the attraction count in the short term.

Hey everyone I'm new here! I am a Disney freak and have loved reading everything on this board the past couple of months, so I decided to join! I'm a little upset to see that Beauty and the Beast and The Voyage of the Little Mermaid are on the way out, but am glad I got to see them on my trip in May. I've not seen Phineas and Ferb, but I would welcome a Tangled show with open arms as long as they do a good job on it!!

Who cares? The Academy is a joke nowadays anyway. Vote me in for a Tangled show!
The Academy has never been a meter of the general public.

It is the Motion Picture Industry awarding those people who THEY think deserves recognition.

There are enough other minor award ceremonies that cater to John Q Public's opinions.

Yep. Spent Sunday afternoon/night at one of those ...honoring TV, you know the thing that 23-year-old fanbois who get all their content on their tiny iPhones (and will go blind because of that well before they go blind for doing something else!!!) believe is a dying medium.

Funny thing is, they're wrong.

But all I care about is that I made one Emmy-winner's night ... oh, and that Kevin Costner wanted a picture with the world-famous Spirit.

The Oscars are more pretentious. The Emmys just feel more open to all ...

Did you catch the double negative in what he said? I think he was saying that he thinks tangled is good! I know I don't not de-dislike it!
Oh no, you've shot past double negative! You've gone straight to plaid!

Beauty is a show so hopelessly of its time that it has reached the point of being embarrassing (like MSEP) - it should have been replaced a long time ago. Mermaid is also hopelessly of its time, but is still fun due to the effects employed. It is definitely due for a changeout, and P&F is a good choice. I'm guessing most of the posters here haven't seen an episode - its actually a very clever, funny show with lots of great musical numbers. I think it will stick much longer than previous duds like KP or Doug.

Any idea when this will take place?

Enchanted the musical! That would work well. Much better than Tangled.....And as a previous post stated that "they would rather be doing than watching"..... some people like to go to live theater more so than rides. In fact that is what makes Disney so unique. You can watch broadway like shows in a theme park. (Nemo and Lion King and B&B ie.)
