Mermaid's replacement will be a Phineas and Ferb show.
Is the offering in Downtown Disney a test for this?

This makes sense, there was a rumor on this going into the Sounds Dangerous theater if I recall.

Whoa! Whoa! Don't talk about Nicolas Cage that way. He's the GREATEST screen actor in the past three generations. His portrayal of Ben Gates was brilliant! The fact that he didn't receive an Oscar for that role is mind-boggling. It shows the corruption of Hollywood.
I'm just kidding about replacing those attractions by the way....OR AM I!?!

I still think rolling out Dr. Turminus and Hoagy every couple of hours on Mainstreet USA to sell their snake oil to guests would be awesome and Disney's dropping the ball with that!

Yuck and double yuck.
That is disappointing, but it might suggest a plan to turn over the shows more frequently, since I can't imagine P&F having staying power beyond 5 years or so.

I actually have... But still not a fan of his music. Sorry. I hear the same old same old in the majority of his songs, including the toy story movies. Just find him boring.
Regarding phineas and ferb...not surprising. It's a cute and popular show though as someone else fought up, really not sure of its staying power beyond a few 5 years. I'd rather have a classic Disney film replacing mermaid so it's a little disappointing

Makes total sense, if you are going to have something for them. Right across from Disney Jr. basically, in an animation like setting, and hopefully that will keep that show from invading the Magic Kingdom
VotlM is my wife's favorite thing at DHS, along with BatB though, so she will be crushed.

Can't believe I forgot about Enchanted, that would be a perfect show to replace either mermaid or beast, the songs are some of the best in a Disney film, live action or animation. Still think that the jungle book needs to be represented somehow in the parks, it would be a better fit in DAK but just do something with it.

In terms of popularity I believe Phineas and Ferb is at it's peak (no telling how long they will stay at the peak). But I'd agree with you this is too late because they should capitalize on properties like this when the popularity is on the rise not when it reaches it's highest point ... because then you can only go one place ... down.

I'm not a huge fan of the idea of a P&F show for the same reason it's been said before.. how long can it remain relevant.
BUT I do think it fits better in DHS than the Little Mermaid does. DHS should be a place for everything Disney that isn't from WDAS. Little Mermaid and BatB should (as they finally will now) be in the MK.
