After seeing Up this afternoon, very good by the way, would it be possible that Disney changes Soarin to UP. I think there is potential there and to make it a 4D ride.

The only thing I'd want to see for Soarin' is a Soarin' over Florida or the US or the World, something like that. I could see Up put in the parks other ways.
Could it? Sure.
Should it? No.
If anything they should build a Soarin style attraction at DHS that they could periodically modify to fit whatever Pixar movie was current. The film for the attraction could be done at the same time movie is being done and as long as the motions were kept identical they could do a simultaneous movie and attraction launch.
They don't necessarily need to deal with flying to be adapted to a flying ride. Soarin is more about the landscapes than flying. Flying is merely a great way to experience them. You could just as easily do a flying tour of Radiator Springs, or the earth in Wall-E's time, or even riding on a bug through Bug's life.Interesting idea, and perfect for Pixar Place, but how many Pixar movies deal with flying?:lookaroun
Quite a bit actually...Splash Mountain, JC, PotC, IASW all the same essentially ride system. Same with Snow White and Pooh as well as Buzz, Nemo and HM.The beauty of Soarin' is the scenery (REAL scenery). While I am sure Disney could do a great attraction using CGI and the Soarin' ride mechanics, I can't imagine Soarin' being replaced with it. I LOVE the river/kayaking scene... could watch that kind of scene for 20 minutes all by itself...
Besides, as others have mentioned, "UP" doesn't seem to fit with a "Land" theme. I DO think it would be great in Pixar place, but how many different times do you implement the same ride system? (of course, roller coasters don't seem to fall into that problem, so maybe it's NOT a problem...)
My question to the OP: how does UP celebrae and showcase Man's relationship with The Land?
I don't think it fits.
