AVATAR land - the specifics

So I'm trying to make sense of the new details on flight of passage. If we are flying on banshees via the avatar program then what would be the point of climbing the mountain (queue)? If you've seen the movie you'll know that Jakes human form isn't physically in the pandoran environment he is in a stasis pod.

It turns out that all Avatar rides are lying down in a pod and watching a small screen within that pod with 3D glasses on.

Unless the ACE team built a laboratory at the top of the mountain I don't see how this would make sense within the story. I'm not bashing it I'm just trying to make sense of this.
try to not think too much about...

I'm aware of the technical differences... I just don't think (IMO) it delivers a significant jump vs prior elements. Especially when the projection face figures can provide such incredible accuracy. Obviously the projection faces vs physical depend on the setting to say if one is viable or not.. but I'm not blown away here. I mean the Dave Jones figure in Shanghi pirates.. I was like w0ah.. this I'm like.. hrmph.
The more you add, the subtle it gets. They were clearly trying to skip the "uncanny valley" area that many AA.s fit on.
Kinda like computer graphics.. you reach a point where you can hardly "improve" some things except tiny details. (like texturing) to make things more believable.

The cutoff point between the projection face and the "real" part of the animatronics is really obvious to me. Real faces will always trump them.

However impressive the Elsa animatronic is there's something off about how rigidly stiff her body is. It's like she has a pole up her back.
not to mention they still have the "shaking" caused by pneumatics/cabling.

If we just walked through Radiator Springs, why do we enter a mountain and drive through Radiator Springs again?

Just go with the flow maaaan

There are stairs when exiting, but I think it is all ramps on the way in, except if you are going to the upper level.
Interesting. The leaked plans and construction photos seem to show a ramp to the upper level, and stairs only in the exits. Unless there's a third level, which requires taking the ramp up to boarding level two and then, from there, stairs up to level three? I probably sound stupid right now because I'm just guessing and you probably actually know. ;)

Here's where I see ramps:

Can you please help me make sense of what's going on in the blue shaded areas?
