Radio just said it was -30 with the wind chill right now! :( It is funny though, but as soon as the temps get up into the 40's and 50's, you will start to see people out without their coats and that (myself included). Not everyone up here mind you, but you will see a bunch. Of course when we were down in WDW last March and it got down into the 60's the one day, everyone was bundled up like they were expecting a deep freeze. We were at a very empty Typhoon Lagoon that day and didn't mind it one bit!

current temperature in Buffalo: 11*F

Kids got off today due to the inclement weather. The wind chill was so dangerous, according to the local news, that five minutes would be enough to get frostbite on your face.

Here in certain parts of the south it's been in the 60's during the day at the 30's at night.
But, the thunderstorms at times have been horrible.
I am ready to wear shorts & t-shirts again!

We did get a nice surprise in January -- it snowed about 1 inch & stayed on the ground for about 1/2 day (it does that about every 10 years) -- my children had never seen snow, so it was a treat for them!

60 mph gusts over the past two days with real temperature in the single negatives. That's windchill of about -20 F, folks.

And 3-6 inches of snow over the course of a few hours tomorrow. I have a feeling my birthday may be my undoing.

Not old, just vintage.
I am in the Northeast, not the Midwest, but I am beyond cold. 11 degrees with a wind chill of -2. Too cold to snow fortunately...although I could use a snow day right about now.

Was having these same thoughts of being tired of winter myself this evening when I walked into the kitchen and saw DH's freshley laundered long underwear hanging to dry on the barstools (can't put it in the dryer). Between the insulated work pants, long-sleeved henleys and the 10 sets of longjohns, it seems like all I do is wash clothes. Can't fit as much of this stuff in one load like you can with the shorts and T-shirts in the summer!!

We all know why beer drinking is such a large part of the culture in MN huh...

Gotta stay warm somehow....

I've loved watching the Pond Hockey Tourney stories on Weather Channel the past few days. Double Digit Sub Zero temps w/ 15 MPH winds. Those dudes are AWESOME.

I don't know if it will make any of you feel any better, but the robins have been here for about a week or so. They absolutely cover all of the trees, and eat all of the berries, worms, and seeds they can find, prior to heading north.

It happens every year, but still amazes me. I feel as if I'm in an Alfred Hitchcock movie.

So cheer up, Spring is on the way. :sohappy:

(BTW, my Azaleas are starting to bloom. :lookaroun)

Well the day after I got back from Florida(Jan 29) I went to work at 3p it was 62 and rainy,by 6:30p it was storming bad with lightning and thunderstorms(got a great shot on one of the security cameras of a lightning bolt hitting the employee parking lot!),at 7:30p there was tornado warnings out(westside of Indianapolis had a tornado but I am on eastside where we just had bad storms) so we had to get everyone into shelters at work(I work at a warehouse/corporate office) for about 20 minutes as storm passed then at 11p it was 15 degrees and snowing so I was only missing 80 degrees and I would have enjoyed all 4 seasons in one day.I can say Indy is like this alot tho.Wait a few hours and the weather will change drastically!Wonder if there will snow or tornado for this years Indy 500 :drevil: hmmmmm
