For the most part I am really happy with who made it through.

For the most part :lookaroun

And I don't even need to visit Vote For The Worst to know who they are pulling for. I think it's pretty obvious.

I dunno.... "Normand" or Tatiana both fit the bill on VFTW. Emo boy could be another...

I was thinking the judges were trying to distribute a number of different styles instead of simply putting the overall best singers through. That would explain why Jamar got dropped when so many lesser singers got through, his vocal style is quite similar to his friend Danny IMO. Who knows what they were thinking with some of the oddities that got through though.

Is it 5:00 yet?

Yeah, noticed that... so they're going in groups next week, and we vote who we want out of that one group? Is that right?

And ugh, I hope the emo kids goes soon. I can't stand him. :brick:
So I wonder if there will be 4 chosen out of each group of 12 to make the final 12 or is it too early for that??

America will vote for the top three of every group of 12. Then the judges will pick (wild card round)

And which one is Joanna Pacitti? She's already out...?

:brick:She:brick:drives:brick:me:brick:crazy! :brick: Anyway you slice it, she's annoying, she's obnoxious, she's over-the-top. I was also surprised that the black guy who forgot his words at the keyboard made it through. I will bet there were a lot of good singers scratching their head over that one, or else we didn't get the full story on him.
And did anyone else notice her turn it on when she got done with them telling her yes...she looked straight into the camera and realized oh...it's on me...and then she started giggling and acting rediculous more.

It's all an act with her (well, probably not all of it) but she thinks it's cute. You could tell that right there in that moment. Unfortunately for her, it's in the people's hands and while I think she has a good voice (from what I have heard of it) her grating personality is what will kill her from this competition.

Yeah I noticed that too...after he sang Paula said something like "that's too bad"...which to me means its the end of the road for him...
What I don't understand is why he made it to the top 36 instead of Danny Gokey's friend Jamar...just boggles my mind...
I agree...I don't understand what it was that made Jamar not go through. I thought he was a shoe-in

The chair show is historically the least entertaining show of the season, and this season's chair show was no different:
  • Very little singing and what singing there was ... dog, that was not good.
  • The incredibly annoying fakeout - "Well, it's not good news ... it's great news!" Blech.
  • The wailing, crying, and trembling, which are the "highpoints" of the chair show.
Now we're onto the real shows, but with a bloated 36 contestants. I could never keep them straight when there were only 24. I do like the cute blonde chick with the adorable baby girl, though.

I'm glad they dumped the girl who already had a contract. I've always thought the show should focus on people's first shot at fame, not second.

The guy with the alter-ego is, no question, this season's Sanjaya. "I'll dress up like bikini girl." Heh.

Crying boy and Tatiana must go.

Hard to not vote for Ricky Braddy, since hes from the town I work in!!! And my DW is his parent's pharmacist...took 1/2 hour to get first vote in on his number...good sign.

Gokey--last guy to sing

2nd girl to sing--21yo with some pink hair

Anoop

Those would have been my votes. I don't vote though, I just watch sometimes. Some of those girls did terrible.

The biggest shocker of the night for me was Tatiana. She can actually sing.

The guy who sang "I Don't Wanna Be" didn't have the range for the song. The backup singers bailed him out, big time.

The highest overall vote getter will be the last guy.

After three weeks of this, we'll have 9 finalists. Don't the judges get wild cards this year ... so we'll end up with 13 finalists out of the top 36?

I'm not sure how the wild card is going to work. It sounded like we'd be choosing the Wild card contestants...somehow.

My best idea of who's got a shot:

Ricky-he really can sing. Too bad he didn't get a lot of air play. It might hurt him.
Alexis Grace- has a great voice
Anoop- I like him, for some reason...I really do like him.
Tatiana-I hate it, but she's got a voice. And I liked the more reserved version of her. Hopefully she's really not crazy and that was some misnomer...but, probably not.
Danny- Dan't been my favorite since the beginning. I really have high hopes for him.
