American Idol: Season 8!

And, did anyone notice that we got a lot of "you're a decent singer, BUT THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT YOU THAT I REALLY LIKE". Simon used to talk about the "it" factor, and it seemed like they were trying to find people with some personality this season. :shrug:

I did notice!

I think of all the auditions, I enjoyed Salt Lake the most. Seemed to be a lot of unique singers there.

I can honestly say that I'm tired of the auditions being dragged out (why can't they be done like NYC and San Juan--two cities in a one hour show), but we really enjoyed the last two nights. We really look forward to Hollywood week.

EDIT: I took a look at the Top 36. Looks like my faves made it, but I was shocked that a couple of people made it this far. I wish we could vote people off.

Yeah, in the last couple years, the hollywood week had been reduced to only a couple of episodes. I'm happy they've extended it back into its regular format again. :sohappy: This is the best hollywood week yet I think. The drama... wow.

I agree...both were equally annoying. And I too wished Rose would have stayed. Unfortunately, I think what sealed her fate was she forgot the words. It did appear that Simon wasn't kidding. If you forgot the words, you were out, no matter how good you were.

She doesn't know when to shut up and stop. She won't last long beyond this point. Maybe then she can go home and get the mental health help that she so obviously needs.

Yeah I noticed that too...after he sang Paula said something like "that's too bad"...which to me means its the end of the road for him...
What I don't understand is why he made it to the top 36 instead of Danny Gokey's friend Jamar...just boggles my mind...

I wouldn't worry about it, odds are they're not going to get past the chair round.

I'm really hoping they get rid of the emo kid. And if they knew what was good for them, they'd get rid of that crazy alter-ego guy. Because mark my words, he'll be the next Sanjaya if he makes it through. :brick:

They both make it past the chair round which is tonight...I posted this link to the top 36 already...but here it is again...I think they narrowed it down to 36 instead of 24 like they usually do...

I read that they're bringing back the judge's wild card this year. Remind me how that worked. Did they just have to make it to Hollywood week to qualify for the wild card?
