Fantasia and her crazy Donald Duck-like voice drives me nuts. Tack on a song with no discernible melody, and it could not have been much worse. I'll never understand how she beat LaToya.
OMG! I couldn't watch the season she was on. I couldn't stand her voice and it was SO obvious they wanted her to win...why, I have no idea...but they wanted her.

Ok...so my DVR cut out just for a 6 minute slot and I didn't know that Fantasia sang until looking on here today. I just looked up her performance...and wow...just wow...that was AWFUL!!!! She WON American Idol?! Simon's face really did say it all.

My DVR knew what it was doing when it cut out...it didn't want me to see that horific performance!

I fast forwarded through Fantasia because I was anxious to get to the results. But now I'm going to have to go back and watch it just so I can see Simon's face! I can only imagine....

I usually agree with Simon's opinion for the most part but he was a BIG Fantasia supporter. He was way wrong with that one, and he must have realized it last night. Wow she was thrashing all over that stage, and that jumpsuit did not compliment her at all. My eyes and ears were hurting after that.

I have never understood why they love Fantasia so much. She has always been awful. It really gets me mad when they compare singers like Sayesha or Carly Smithson to her. They make it sound like no one can sing as good as her. Maybe after last night's terrible performance that will be the last time we hear one of the judges brings up her name to tear down another singer. At least I hope so.

David C is the real Idol. I also think that if he wins they will let him record an album that showcases his talents. They have learned their lesson with Daughtry. Daughtry's album blew away Taylor Hicks'. They have to have a Daughtry like success with this year's winner if they expect people to continue to watch each year. I think the producers were signaling this with the selection of the Aerosmith tune. It was right in David C's comfort zone. Seems to me that they are signaling that rock is where he belongs.

I also heard (from EW.COm or TVGuide.com, not sure which) that there is going to be a twist with the final song next week. I wonder if this twist relates to the totally different syles of the 2 singers. No way both of them can sing the same song. Look what happened last year with Jordin and Blake. The song was perfect for her but no for him. If they want David C to win, and I think they do, then they will give him a Daughtry type rock song to sing.

GO DAVID COOK!!

I am truly hoping David Cook wins this thing. I just feel like Archuleta was being force fed to viewers, he never sang anything with originality, or anything that didnt sound the same every week. He was always featured first or last in the voting or the singing it seems too....If Archuleta wins, I lose all hope for future Idol...Disney is WAY off in building that attraction!

Yet another reason that Archuleta has too much baggage to succeed...

Jeff Archuleta, who has been banished from backstage at American Idol tapings for behaving like the male equivalent of a "stage mother," in his relationship with his son, finalist David Archuleta, continued to bark orders to his son from his seat in the audience during a taping of the show last Wednesday, the New York Post reported today (Friday). According to the newspaper, following a coin toss to determine whether David or fellow finalist David Cook would perform first during the final show next week, the elder Archuleta stood on his seat and screamed to his son, "Second! Second!" The Post observed that the contestant who gets to close the Idol show usually has an advantage

Ok, this kid did the Star Search thing, and then just disappeared until Idol this year? I have a feeling that his Dad may be the reason this kid hasnt made any real impact before now....:brick:
I can tell you, as popular as this kid is, If I were a major producer or label, I wouldnt touch this kid unless he was emancipated or 18....:hammer:

He's close to 18, isn't he? He's 17...so, he should be close, don't know when his birthday is.
