Let me first start by saying that I do not mean any disrespect to anyone with this thread, but I have to say that the idea of pool hopping really bothers me!!

The last thing I want when I go to my resort pool is to find the place crowded both on land and in the water.. I hate getting there and finding no chairs available or so many people in the water that you can't move without swimming into someone or getting kicked by someone as they are swimming..

Granted I always assumed this was a result of a crowded resort, but now I must ask, is this a result of pool hoppers? And if it is, I have to say I would like to see more control of the pool areas to keep them limited to those guests who are paying for the priveledge of swimming there...

Am I the only person who feels this way???

Going into a restaurant and sitting at anouther families table and eating their food is absurd. Walking into one to use thier bathroom would have been a better comparison and it happens all the time.
Sorry to have used a restroom example twice.
NOTE: Pool hoppers please dont pi$$ in my pool :lookaroun :lookaroun

for the record, i as a non pool hopper will honestly say that i will never use a restroom at a facility that i am not purchasing something...

Again, there is no thievery going on whatsoever. And, there are no victims of pool-hopping. The pool is an added amenity that not even the guests of that resort pay for.

...This is nonsense and I hate to dignify it with a response... The notion that a hotel adds luxury amenities without increasing the rental rate of the room is simple juvenile lunacy.

I'm beginning to think you're pulling our chains and drawing us into a fight with you...and it's time I quietly exited from this thread forever.

Oh dear. I know this might upset you..but here goes. I have seen the pool at the Beach Club, and think I might want to stay there. I saw the pool at Boardwalk, and thought I might want to stay there. I've seen the pool at PO and think I might want to stay there. I've seen the new pool at Polynesian and think I might want to stay there. It NEVER occured to me, while staying at another resort, to go over and actually go into the pool before making my decision.

OK, OK, everybody, and MEA CULPA, too - I said we'd only pool-hopped once, a few years ago, and we wouldn't think of doing it again!!! Now that I've heard some other people's opinions, I see that it really is an obnoxious thing to do.

And, by the way, I don't run stop signs at night, under-report my income at tax time, or take restaurant silverware, either!!!

Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

If Disney owns a pool then they get to say who uses the pool.
Our neighbors told my kids they could use their trampoline any time. So they do. If the neighbors said no, they wouldn't.

People who have more money get more stuff. Even in magic-land. If you want entitlements then you'll be much more likely to get them from the US Government than Disney -- Disney just doesn't have the money. Disney is not a right included in the constitution.

There are lots of people who would like to go to DW but can't afford it. Should Disney just let all of them in the parks????

Should they open up V&A's to anyone with a buck and a gripe?

And no need to defend your pools from the hoppers. They'll just keep on hopping and talking about their rights.

Someone put a stop to this thread.

This whole debate is pointless, it really is. People can incorrectly view pool-hopping as thievery if they wish. They're definitely wrong, but it's their right to be wrong. If Disney viewed it as thievery, they'd certainly take stricter measures to put a stop to it. For those who do pool-hop, they can continue to do so with the full knowledge that Disney could care less about you're doing so and have no fear in being stopped. That's the way it is right now and probably for the foreseeable future. In the end, no matter how we personally view it.....it's still gonna happen. Get used to it. Personally, I have better things to do like ride Space Mountain, Rock n' Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, or other great rides rather than spend my time at the lame resort pools anyway.

Here is my outlook on Pool Hopping...

Truthfully I believe you should get what you pay for. If you pay for Port Orleans you should expect to get the pool at Port Orleans not the Polynesian. I know that when I was at the Polynesian there weren't enough chairs for the guests let alone any pool hoppers. I think that should accept what you have and deal with it. If you want the nicer pool pay for it. There is a reason that Disney posts signs at Every pool saying they are for the EXCLUSIVE use of the guests at the resort. The Polynesian even had this sign by the path from the TTC to warn people before they got there.

Well it seems that out of the entire thread about 1 other person supported your position, with the remainder opposing your position. I think that in most people's eyes that makes you definately wrong. And of course it is your right to be wrong.

Since nowhere does it state that the wishes of some users of the WDWMagic forums dictate that anything is going to change within WDW, and obviously pool-hopping will continue, you're certainly within your right to choose to continue to stay wrong. And in knowing that things will continue regardless of what's viewed by 'most people's eyes'....I could care less what those people think.

Thanks for the info WDWMagic! Maybe if you find a troll you could force them to have a Disney villian avatar for month, then we could better reconize them. May I suggest a Sid (from Toy Story) avatar for Yankeefan:animwink:

I was simply pointing out that from a random group of individuals on this forum, your opinion is not supported by the vast majority of people.

But obviously, WDW doesn't REALLY mean it..otherwise they would have a guard armed with an Uzi standing there checking IDs!

Goodness this thread has gone crazy since last nite!

I'm still a bit confused though (seriously, I'm not trying to stir anything up) - There is all of this fuss about pool-hopping, which BTW I don't do because I don't go in public in a swimsuit :animwink: , because the p.h.'s didn't pay for the amenities in the resort that they are "visiting". I do understand that. But how is it different than someone like myself ? I'm a total resort hopper! I love to wander thru the lobbies and grounds of other resorts, yet I don't pay to stay in them....

Does this make me a thief for just taking in the atmosphere?
