Good news that the big freeze is showing signs of thawing, any movement is good. However I care more about JII and Little Mermaid moreso than what was innumerated here, so I am hoping they aren't put on the backburner (again (again )).

I like WoL getting attention though, whatever it is. A complete re-theming would be appreciated (weather for instance), but it sounds like that is the direction its moving. I am not really a fan of "simulator" type rides, so I would like something different, but being open is better than being closed either way.

I always had an idea for a weather/sky based pavilion "Infinite Sky" so seing something along those lines would be good.

Definitely hope the "containment" strategy is adhered to, and things seem to be looking that way with the MInc coming to DHS, just need to get Stich, Buzz, and Nemo on the bus over there too (though that will never happen). If they are going to bring Indy, he goes in DHS too, not MK.

What is all these "Snow" rumors mentioned here? Is that in regards to RFID on the ride or something else? - Edit: NVM I found it in the other thread.

I just thought of something. Could it be only $30 million because it will basically be a quick fix designed to absorb the crowds that would be displaced by a long term closure of JII? Kinda like the Stitch theater will do this summer while SM and TTA are closed. This seems logical to me.

That's an interesting thought. Opening WoL, even with only a couple of things in it, would spread people out over a larger area whether they had to close JII or not. Might make sense, but we also don't know the timelines for these things and whether that kind of arrangement would be necessary.

But still... I like your thinking!

Sorry to throw ice cold water in the face of lathered up fanbois ... but you really need to look at the reality of what the OP put out there.

Again, much of it is true, but it has been said by many other folks here and elsewhere and yet people are reacting like Moses just brought it down the mountain.

When you have a post that is filled with regurgitated information from many other sources tinged with hyperbole and outright BS it tends to cloud the whole.

There is nothing new being offered about the POSSIBLE use of the RFID tech, and frankly any fanboi here could extrapoltate how it could be used.

And no one at WDW is 'ecstatic' over quarter one's numbers, which showed drops across the board. Those numbers are available on Disney's investor relations site for all to see. Quarter 2 numbers haven't come out yet, but let's all remember the reality of people staying at 40% off, getting $200 free gift cards, buying merchandise on massive discounts. There's spin in that first post that would make many in DC or Wall Street proud. And the recession/depression isn't over or close to it ... so to say 'WDW has weathered it' is absurd.

Records aren't being set. At least any meaningful ones. If they were then you can bet Disney would be getting the word out to mainstream media so they can make themselves look good and push the stock up. The only record being set is the number of guests getting massive discounts to take magical WDW vacations.

And Disney wants to be aggressive?

That's laughable considering the only aggressive moves the company has made in the past 18 months are laying off a large number of workers, cutting back quality/show, putting a few dozen projects on ice and ... oh yeah, discounting the magic.

Aggressive would have been announcing major additions and expansions, NOT firing people and not nickel and diming guests with things like removing prime rib from buffets, taking characters (even if I don't like em) away from other meals, cutting hours, cutting entertainment etc ...

You spend and invest in your business when times are tough to show confidence, strength and vision ... and sorry, bud, but your company has done the exact opposite. They instead have done the same things they have done in good times and bad for the last 15 years.

So let's look at other things you say ...

WoL will get a new E-Ticket ... all for $30 million? As Seth and Amy would say "REALLY?!?!" $30 million buys you DL's Pooh or Monsters dark ride ... it doesn't even come close to getting you Imagination 3.0 and we all know what a fantastic creative and financial success that is.

The reality is any REAL quality E-Ticket will cost you over three times that ... and that still guarantees very little as MS, TT or EE critics will tell you.

And E-Ticket thrill ride for MK? Well, there are always ideas tossed around. But the only E-Ticket that really has any chance of coming to MK right now is Mermaid. And while it may be nice, thrilling it ain't.

Star Tours 2.0 and Monsters coaster coming to TPFKaTD-MGMS? Gee, where haven't we heard that. Those projects are as close to givens as can be. Nothing short of swine flu killing four million Americans will stop them.

Again, you did your job. The fanbois are all lathered up. But at the end of the day I see very little in your post that's truly new and a lot of regurgitation combined with hyperbole.

Whether the OP turns out to be correct or just rehashing old ideas, the idea that WDW may be adding more roller coasters and thrill rides of that nature disappoints me. We've already got Space, Thunder, Splash, ToT, RnR, and Everest. Sure the theming is great but it will probably alienate all the people who don't like these kinds of rides, like Mission Space does.

If they start making all the parks coaster ride heavy, it'll cease to be what its always been. A park for everyone in the family and just turn into Disney's Attempt at Islands of Adventure.

I'm all for progress and fixing what's wrong (JIYI), doing something with Wonders of Life, building new attractions and rides...just don't overwhelm the place with coasters. DHS is already too coaster heavy in my opinion.

Some of you newer posters need to go back and read some of the old posts from ReDis (what was his full screen name). You will see a truly genius con-artist in action--- one who was so sly, I don't think he was ever called out by our trustworthy "experts".

I believe it was just days before the HM opened from it's refurb, while cast members were already cycling it, and he spun this story which involved the pop-up ghosts having 2-sided faces that spun around. Skeptical, I called on cast members to verify his story. He did not back down until the ride opened...and he was presumably banned.

This would rationalize re-opening some things in Wonders of Life while the refurbishment is going on - have Cranium Command and/or Body Wars been removed? I know the signage is gone, but have the attractions themselves been removed?

I doubt Body Wars will reopen but the Cranium Command Theater is still intact. It probably won't be that hard to re-open the fitness fairgrounds either.

Just a theory -- is it possible that Disney is holding off on the Imagination redo until after this new E-ticket is built so as not to further increase the wait times that this new E-ticket is set to decrease? It would make since to open something new before closing something that already exists.

The entrances to both Cranium Command and BodyWars have been totally walled off, as in what looks like a permanant wall, you wouldnt even know attractions existed in there. But then maybe thats not true? Thats how it def looks though.

I have to say, after all the 'gloom and doom' we've been hearing about for months, it's great to hear news like this (whether it's just rumors or not). I'm just glad to hear that Disney parks are working through the recession as they should.
