Can Disney Land/DCA be done in a day?

Thanks Cosmic Commando for the info for World of Color. I remember the admonishments about being too close to the water "You WILL get wet", and yet we did have ponchos we could have donned for the event, so really, what would be so bad about wearing a poncho and actually SEEING the show right...

Can Disney Land/DCA be done in a day?

I returned recently from a few days in Disneyland. My daughter was a cast member at DW last spring, and now that she is studying in Valencia, CA, I flew to CA with her for a few days before her semester started. We had a blast, although it is so hard to experience everything you want to do...

Expo Just like Epcot, Could it get sued

The spooky, desolate Nara Dreamland reminds me of Spirited Away.

    IllumiNations ROE wins again!!

Honestly, I don't think I could ever get tired of watching Illuminations. The music alone is worth the price of admission, but the sum of its parts is outstanding. I'm so glad that it is still on top.

New Fantasyland Photo Report Up at Orlando Theme Park News Blog

I loved seeing the new photos. The dark and cloudy skies added a great touch to the beast's castle. (I have a few photos of the T o T with menacing skies, too.) Anyway, thanks for the links. I hope to get back to the Magic Kingdom next year to see everything in person. I especially like the...

That is one of the best Austin pictures I've seen! I copied a few, but this one is much better! Thanks for posting it.

Which Park Would You Do Twice?

I've generally found that the weather makes that decision for me. If I have a rained-out fantasmic, or whatever, then I have to visit that park again, if it is really, really that important to me. Lucky for you, you won't need to make a big decision ahead of time with your park hopper tickets.

Oooh! Me, too! That would be great.

Something you've done and have no interest in doing again?

Backlot Tour and Light, Motors, Action. So much space devoted to "attractions" that aren't worth repeating, and frankly, weren't as good as I was expecting them to be the first time.

    Water pipe break behind Splash

I find it hard to believe that anyone thinks that the "theme" doesn't relate to guests any longer. The music is wonderful, and I actually think that Song of the South is a pretty good film. I wouldn't change a thing about Splash Mountain. (Well, except for maybe making sure the broken features...

2012 Golden Tickets: SEA and Dolly Beat Out Disney In Most.

I agree. It's the music that makes it so amazing. But, I do think that the whole experience is greater than the sum of its parts. It's subjective, though. Perhaps Epcot "won" with more votes, because it had more traffic. Who knows.

2012 Golden Tickets: SEA and Dolly Beat Out Disney In Most.

While I agree with you that World of Color is amazing, I don't think they are talking about the Illuminations of 30 years ago. I think that the Millennium Illuminations is outstanding. Fortunately, Disney realized that this "new and improved" 2000 version was worth keeping. I'd vote for...

    An epileptic in the group

I just had to chime in with the previous poster's warning about the dark rides. Truly, my daughter and i have had to endure one flash after another on Spaceship Earth, and Pirates, and a couple of other tame, "dark" rides. The cast members warn "no flash photography", but no one is going to get...

Will Disney ever produce a "classic" movie anytime soon?

I agree. My family loves the 2-D hand drawn movies. Tangled was amazing. Alan Menken's songs were perfect. Sometimes I wonder if Disney knows how to market their movies anymore.

2012 Summer Olympics! Will the parks do anything for this?

A friend of mine just returned home (Texas) from London after visiting his family, and he said just what you said. There have been some pre-olympic races, etc. and basically, you can't get out of your driveway or have deliveries. And that was before it even officially started! I'm pretty...

People who visit DW and complain about the walking...

I love walking all over the parks and the resorts. Maybe it's just me, but when I'm there, I want to see/experience it all. I bring several pairs of terrific walking shoes, and even a pair of older, beaten up walking shoes that I don't mind wearing in the rain. The best part is that I can eat...

    WDW DVD?

Yes, Netflix is the way to go. I always wondered, though, if there were any other special features on the bluray edition beyond what has already aired on the travel channel or available for streaming from netflix. Anybody know anything about this? My gut feeling is there are only the 4 regular...

    20 years of Splash Mountain

First of all, I have to preface this with the fact that I LOVE Splash Mountain, ailing animatronics and all... Plus, I believe that the original reason Splash Mountain got built was in order to bring more people to Critter Country. Since, I'm not looking at my Disney history books, I can't...

Was the Star Tours rework a success for Disney?

I love the new Star Wars, but I have to admit that I can't compare it to the original, because I never visited DW before this year. I like the fact, that each experience is changed from the previous one, but wish that each ride could be a bit longer. And, yeah, after one Toy Story Mania, I'm...

All Stars and Pop Century fans unite!

There are fun things at the value resorts that might not be so obvious to an adult without kids. One afternoon, when a big storm was on the way, I talked my daughter (cast member on her day off) into leaving the park and coming back to my room at Sports for a rest and break. We arrived just as...
