News Artist Point to become Storybook Dining character experience

I haven't been to this website in a long time. Miss it! But this Artist Point issue has got my family P-O'ed. My intention here is NOT to attack anyone's opinion; we all are entitled to our opinions. Jumping right in, so what has happened to Walter Elias Disney's concept of theme-ing? When...

Debating over resorts! (meant to be funny)

I'm just a plain ole guy; I let my wife do all of the planning (she loves that kind of stuff anyway) and I just go along for the ride. If anything goes wrong, I blame her! Just kidding ! I have enjoyed every resort we've stayed at, from the All-Stars up to the DVC Villas, and have never...

How to hold back the tears?

We've been to WDW 43 times and I can tell you that I too, get emotional multiple times throughout the day. I'm a 53 year old male whose children think of their Dad as a strong-willed tough guy. If they only knew of the many times that my throat was so tight that I could not speak, it would...

Whats your favourite thing about Wilderness Lodge

My Goodness ! There are so many things I like about our trips to the Wilderness Lodge. Theme-ing, atmosphere, the Lobby. The Lobby is great for people watching. All the first-timers drop their jaws as they enter for the first time. Restaurants are so different, but great. Late in the...

    WDW Web Cams

Hi Ijones88 ! We are a little south of Greensboro. By the way, we will be staying two nights at Port Orleans Riverside and 4 nights at the Villas of the Wilderness Lodge starting Nov. 28th. Careful, you might bump into a fellow Tarheel!

    WDW Web Cams

I can understand security concerns since 9-11, and it's a shame that our society has moved into communities of paranoia, but what kind of a security risk would be found in a Web Cam? Of course, the Cams will show that the theme parks are crowded. But, that's normal almost everyday. And, as...

    WDW Web Cams

I don't know how many of you on these forums remember the WDW Web Cams that you could view of the 4 theme parks. They weren't the best images, and I think they refreshed about every few minutes or so. But they were neat, just gave you that urge to want to be there. Well, unfortunately, they...

    The Obsessed Thread

Reminders Palm trees, golf balls, certain cloud formations, combinations of reds, yellows, and blacks, buses, planes heading south, antenna toppers. The smell of a warm apple pie, ice cream in a waffle cone, hot dogs. Western music reminds me of the background music from the Wilderness Lodge.

OH NO!!! Get out of the way....

Food ! Aaaaahhhhh Yes ! Another great reason for going to WDW ! If you get a chance to go to the Wilderness Lodge (take the boat from Magic Kingdom), try the Portabella Mushroom Soup. WOW ! That's one of their appetizers. Great stuff !

    Wilderness Lodge at Christmas

Can't get much better! We'll be there on Nov. 30th thru Dec. 4th. Not a long trip but it will be a great trip. In my opinion, the Wilderness Lodge can't be beat for atmosphere. The Christmas decorations are well themed and coordinated with the theming of the Lodge and Villas. This will be...

Your Absolute, No Questions Asked, Favorite Attraction and, why?

Gotta love it ! All WDW attractions are my favorite! But, my favorite story about the rides comes from September 2000, our first trip. Our two older children, 18 and 14 at the time, were dying to ride the Tower of Terror. They were looking forward to getting me on the ride to "scare" me...

    Cancelled Trip Blues

Hang in there Folks! When I first saw this thread, I thought it would be full of whining. But I see how sincere and thoughtful everyone has been. This shows me the true character of everyone who loves their family trips to WDW. Actually, I believe that you all have "mickey ears" attached to...

POR, Old Key West or Saratoga Springs?

Three good places to stay ! Port Orleans Riverside: Good size food court, but can get crowded. Their restaurant is named Boatwrights, good atmosphere and has good down-home cooking, a little Cajun I think. Old Key West: No food court. Their restaurant is named Olivia's, good atmosphere...

    DVC - yea or nay??

Dvc I don't understand the previous statement that Disney can change the points at anytime. We have been members of the DVC since 2001 and the point values have never changed for us. Another reply mentioned planning ahead for your stay at a DVC resort. This is very true. It is difficult to...

    Tell me your heartwarming stories!

Oh WOW! What wonderful stories! I think this particular instant was our May 2002 trip. Our youngest was a shy 4 year old. He was always kinda stand-off-ish if you know what I mean. He seemed to be most comfortable around people and friends he knew. But would never initiate contact or...
