10 miles this AM. Nice weather. Slight breeze which was perfect. I ran the hilly course today instead of the faster flat course. Why do I like to punish myself? Well, I guess deep down inside I know Im preparing myself to be a better runner, athlete and marathoner.

I was shooting for a 8 min pace over 10 and came in at 8:07 per mile. I guess I can live with that. :D

BTW, Nick. I got me some Honey Stinger. HOLY COW! That stuff taste so freaking good compared to GU and Clif energy shots. I mean it almost taste just like the honey I put on my bagels every morning. Thanks for recommending. *high fives*

*high fives right back* Yeah, that stuff is great. I have to pick up a case tomorrow bc I'm down to 2 packs.

18.21mi this morning. I was supposed to hit 26, but my left leg/hip decided to give out on me today. No pain really, it just didn't want to move. The run started out really well, but I think it was around mile 12.75 when my hip gave up. Dragged it along for the last 5 1/2 miles.

Why, oh why, was there a man carrying bunches of pot plants on the boardwalk??? Oh, because I just entered Asbury Park, that's why :lookaroun.

Today was supposed to be a rest day but it was just too nice of a day here in New Jersey not to take advantage of it. Just got back from a nice 7 mile run.
It's funny to think that last year at this time the thought of running 7 miles was crazy, but now it's like "Oh, I think I'll go for a 7 mile jog just because it's nice out and I don;t want to waste the day."

Continuing my mileage build for January: 15 miles at a 10:39 pace. That's over a minute faster than my normal average, which really surprised me. It was a beautiful day and my bum leg wasn't bum at all. I'm starting to convince myself I can actually do this marathon thingie.

9.5 this AM. I feel better afterwards than the 8 miles I did a few weeks ago. Guess I need to make my travel plans for January!

If you're thinking about one of the WDW races, and haven't signed up yet, then you need to do that now. As in, before you finish reading this post. Last I checked, the WDW half was 96% full.

I feel like such a slacker since I haven't run since last Monday. I really need to be hitting the streets since I've got the January Half to prepare to run. :hammer:

Serious training begins tomorrow. No more excuses

Woke up this morning and my knee still hurts. Just a lot less. By this afternoon it was feeling pretty good. I was able to run around my complex. I could tell it was still injured, but it was not as if it felt like it was collapsing anymore I think Tuesday I will go for a run on it.

Maybe I can finally get back on schedule.

Rest day yesterday even though it was beautuful weather. Yes, I am still getting used to rest days.

Disappointing weekly mileage was under 90mi including my pathetic long run on Saturday which I cut short to 18mi, and my timed ultra training run. Gotta run strong this week.

I think it was a minor tear of a ligament actualy

It is still sore, but I can deal with it now. Just going to take it slow and not-reinjure it. I have the Cayman Islands Half Marathon on Decemeber 5 - gotta be healthy for that.

12.41mi at 9min pace this morning. I really need to start bringing pepper spray with me on my runs...lots of nut-jobs wondering around the not-so-nice towns that I pass :lookaroun.

That is one thing I like about running in the country. When I lived in the city I would run up and down every single block and then back again, just to stay in the good parts of town. If I ran more than a 1/2 mile or so in most directions it would get iffy.

There is 1 stretch of about 1/2 - 1 mile that super scary. You know I feel you pain.

I risk running in all these areas since i just CANT run a loop more than once. I could technically run around my neighborhood without any zigzag and cover 5 miles. With that said, Saturdays 10 mile could have obviously been run with 2 loops. It mentally just bores me to tears. Id rather run across Birmingham and back.

If you want to run past some fruitcakes, run in Highland park, Birmingham. Wow!

3 mile rain delay tonight. It was just raining too hard, too cold and I dont think it is smart to run sometimes in these conditions (dark) when the roads are wet. Last thing I need is a car hitting me. :D

I live in a lovely area, right on the beach, but there are a couple of towns peppered in there that have reputations. They are easy enough to avoid, but I love running the boardwalk, and those "iffy" towns are along the way.

Good call...a fender to the hip usually doesn't go over too well for the runner.

3 miles last night. Nice jog.

My new long sleeve "fitted, not compression, Nike tech shirt is very nice. I should have gotten a medium, but I got a small instead since the sleeves on the medium were very long.

Besides, I wanted it to be tight between a compression tight and fitted tight in the event I wear a short sleeve tech shirt over it for those 30 degree and under days.
